XI.

"No, no, no...." I murmured under my breath, trying to convince myself that this death couldn't -and absolutely wouldn't- take place. Aurora and her mother can't torture him before ending his life. I won't allow it. 'What am I gonna do?' I panicked. If I can't manage to save his life, I doubt I'd ever be able to live with mine.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Brie said out of breath once she caught up to me. I just remained frozen, the scene of him being taken away replying in my head as I tried my hardest to think of any plausible solution.

"Sienna?" Briella said louder as she placed a hand on my shoulder, slightly shaking it.

"H-huh?" I stuttered, slowly turning around to face her.

"Is something going on? Why'd you run off like that?" Her questions were too much of a burden to think of right now as horrible as that sounds. I couldn't simply stay here and explain to Brie, when I had to think of a way to rescue Eli! Time was ticking since the moment he was directed to the wheel and I obviously didn't have much of it left.

"It's Elijah." I said frantically as I started to leave, "I gotta save him!" I called over my shoulder before disappearing out of her sight, even though I doubt she even cared for him.

Or so I thought.

"Wait!" She said as she sprinted behind me, following me all the way to a corner of the roof. We were lucky enough that the workers were distracted by placing chairs to seat the "audience" before they unwillingly watched the sacrificing, that they didn't notice us. Surprisingly.

"I want in." She said stubbornly.

"No." I mimicked just as stubborn, "you don't even know Elijah. I'm not letting you risk your life for someone who doesn't even know your name!"

"Then why are you?" Brie growled back.

"You don't need to know..." I replied, only allowing her to try and come up with a reason herself.

"Tell me." She insisted after I was sure she couldn't think of any scenario of me wishing that guys life wasn't about end today, "I can help, I've been here before." She added as I sighed in defeat.

"Fine. I'll tell you." I could never win against Brie's stubbornness anyways, "He saved my life okay? I thought that he'd taken the ticket and left me to die but he never did even though I was at fault for giving it to him in the first place and I was greedily expecting him to return it or at least hesitate before making his decision. If he didn't leave the way that he did and known I would've come back to get him, he wouldn't've been able to lead me to the roof and I would be apart of the crew getting gassed right now." The words chorused out of my babbling mouth as I slightly panted from all the rambling, knowing what I said most likely didn't make any sense to Brie based on her confused expression, but she still wanted to pursue my so far nonexistent plan together anyways so that's all that really matters.

Now, if only I could think of a ploy...

"Okay," I stated starting off from my sudden epiphany, "We need to find a way to get everybody's attention off the hybrids by the wheel so we can kidnap Eli." I cringed slightly at how creepy it was for me to say 'kidnap' but decided against making a big ordeal.

"But what can we do? It's not like we can just shut the lights or anything. We're on the roof for crying out loud!" Briella exclaimed with a throw of her arms in the air. I guess she didn't notice that she was the one who said she could help. Oh, how she sure did a great job at that. -note sarcasm.-

I looked around the roof; nothing but hysterical hybrids, chairs, wheels, facility workers, and more panicked hybrids. I hated how Brie was actually right. There wasn't really anything we could do. 'No, no I have to prove her wrong.' I thought. But how was the question. The only thing we have to our advantage currently is our-
