XVII.
I walked my way down and through the starry night which loomed over me, smiling as the musky breeze slid against my cheeks and danced through my curled hair.
The weather was simply gorgeous.
I kept on walking, adding a few twirls here and there as I did. No one was watching anyways, right? And even if they were, I wouldn't mind. This was as carefree, and not held or drawn back I ever felt! And boy it felt good.
I started belting the tune of some cheesy love song I remembered from my year before being tamed, surprising myself that my memory was better than I thought.
"Saturday morning jumped out of bed, and put I'm my best suit. Got in my car and raced like a jet, all the way to you," I sung all the way around the curb and just down the street from home sweet home, slightly surprised I made it back so quick.
Just as I was galloping by however, I noticed a small lit box to my right. I turned in the middle of the road to face the tiny convenience store, my stomach growling at the chocolate bars on display, forcing me to face my hunger.
'No Sienna... You don't have cash on you.' I shook my head and began walking back down the street, but my mind just couldn't resist the sweet temptation.
And so, I found myself drooling at the glass door which separated me from my unreachable fantasy.
'Control yourself!' My words screeched inside, but my mind wasn't obeying anytime soon.
My cold hand grasped the long bar attached to the door, automatically pushing it at my uncontrollable will. 'I'm so gonna regret this..' I was about to prance inside a small shop bearing glorious chocolate bars which I couldn't afford.
Remind me why I'm torturing myself again?
Guess that question didn't prevent me from entering anyhow, cause I was standing inside on the white dotted tiles before I could say "peanut butter." I casually gazed up at the screen on the roof, waving my hands frantically towards it as I watched it portray my actions. I always did that whenever I entered a food store. The live footage of me on that tiny screen always made me fascinated for some odd reason.
After my moment of awkward dancing and hopping around, I settled myself down and headed for my target. The cardboard cutout of a box which held my little treat. The chocolate. I licked my lips at the ambrosial scent which filled my nose as I walked nearer to my destination.
"Jackpot." I said aloud as I eyed the shiny wrappers. Hershey's, Ferrero Rocher, aero, Kitkat, smarties, coffeecrisp and many other colorful covers gleamed in my eyes. Oh gosh, such a variety! How could I ever pick just one?
"More like I can't even afford just one..." I mumbled, as I reached out to pick my all time favourite Bounty. Luckily there was one left, it was just calling my name.
It was meant to be.
There wouldn't be just one Bounty left coincidentally now would there?
And so, I reached for it with the craziest grin smearing my face, but to my surprise met with warm flesh instead of the familiar paper. Immediately, I jerked my hand back once I felt the skin under my finger tips. I trailed up the unknowns hand to its arm which led me to a neck and a handsome face.
It was a guy.
"Sorry," I blurted out sheepishly as I apologized with a lowered head. He just smiled as he finished his action of taking the Bounty and stuffing it in his cart of other manly products. Shaving cream, razors, chips and... My Bounty.
