"Yesterday was the best! We got to use firecrackers even though it's not yet New Year!" Louis exclaimed as they walked the park.
"I gotta admit even though dad's weird, he still rocks!" Adalene said in excitement.
"Ain't that right, Avery?" Louis asks but Avery doesn't reply.
"Avery? Earth to Avery," Adalene snaps her fingers.
"Oh. Yeah. Yeah," Avery shakes his head.
"You alright, man?" Louis looks at Avery.
"Yeah. I'm fine," Avery assures Louis.
"Alright," Louis decides to agree.
As the kids stroll through the park, Avery begins to hear the screeches of the tires of Charlotte's car before it crashed, making Avery scream in fear.
"Avery! Avery!" Adalene rushes to Avery's aid.
"Call our parents!" Adalene exclaimed.
"Breath, Ave. Breath," Adalene tries to come Avery.
Waiting for their parents, Adalene and Louis sat down with Avery, who was hyperventilating.
"Oh my God, Avery. What's happening to you?" Jenna and the adults arrive.
"I...I...don't know," Avery has a hard time breathing.
"Dad. Mom," Avery blacks out.
"Aunt Charlotte!" Avery exclaims as he wakes up in his room.
"What happened?" Avery asked as soon as he saw Adalene and Louis sitting beside him.
"You passed out, man," Louis said.
"And it turns out you're suffering from PTSD from the car crash," Adalene breaks the news.
"Great," Avery sighs in disappointment.
"How are you feeling?" Adalene hands Avery a cup of water.
"I'm fine. No headaches. Or anything. I feel normal," Avery says.
"Here take this," Louis hands Avery a pill.
"It's a pill to help you ease your panics," Adalene explained.
"Alright," Avery swallows the pill.
The twins leave the room as Avery's phone pings. Avery looks at his phone, surprised.
"Hey, Ave. It's Cassie, my family's in New York and Jack's with me. Just wanted to know how you're doing," Avery read her message.
"I'm good. It's been a week since I heard from both of you, guys," Avery replied.
"Oh yeah. Sorry about that. We've been very busy lately," Cassie says.
"How's life in New York?" Avery asks.
"It's great. The towering buildings are the best part," Cassie texts back.
"Just make sure Jack doesn't fall off on one of those buildings," Avery jokes.
"LOL. He can handle himself," Cassie replied.
"I'll talk to you soon. Have fun," Avery says as he quickly puts down his phone.
"Finally. Peace," Avery sighs as he closes his eyes.
Unable to ease his thoughts, Avery decides to go to Charlotte's grave unnoticed. As he arrives, Avery settles there for an hour, lying down as he looked at the clouds. But his lovely time is cut short when Avery sees Teddy and his friends skateboarding around the cemetery. "Oh. Crap," Avery said as he tries to hide from the bullies. Avery hides on the back of a pickup truck but when he sees Teddy and his friends vandalizing graves, Avery decides to put a stop to it.
