A cool breeze swept over my body. The clouds and sky were tinted a bright orange as another sunset came. The remaining three days of our camp passed by quickly, and after a week of wins and losses, it was all repaid by barbeque.
I stared at the sun through the clouds and laughed at the thought of everyone getting hyped when barbeque was mentioned.
"Are you actually that lonely to the point where you laugh all by yourself?" I hear someone snigger behind me and didn't even bother to look to know who it was.
"What do you want?" I sigh, keeping my eyes on the sight in front of me.
"Peace and quiet."
"Fair enough." I mumble. Silence hung in the air. Fortunately, Tsukishima didn't have anything else to say. It wasn't as awkward as I thought, just having our presence accompany each other in silence. Who knows how many minutes passed as I remain seated on the concrete stairs.
A voice pierced through the silence, breaking it. "(F/n), there you are." It was Kuroo's voice. "Oh, Tsukishima's here too." He lightly slapped the blonde on the back.
"I'll be going back now, excuse me." Tsukishima whispered an excuse and headed back towards the gym.
"Somethin' happen?" Kuroo asks softly, plopping down beside me. "You left right after getting four skewers."
I sweatdropped, "Isn't that the average consumption? Don't compare me to your endless stomach." I paused before continuing. "I just didn't want to get too involved with Bokuto-san's theft mission." I laugh thinking back to all the food that became victim to Bokuto-san.
"You're finally taking my advice." He says, swiping away a non- existent tear. "And what can I say, I'm not your average person." I playfully rolled my eyes at his remark. Just then, I could feel my phone vibrate. A call from Tooru-san.
"I have to take this." I point to my phone as I stand up, Kuroo nods and urges me to answer it.
I walk a few steps down before answering the call.
"Tooru-san?"
"(F/n)-chan! You actually picked up!"
I could hear faint voices on the other side of the line. They were bickering about something. I could recognize Iwa-chan's voice but there was another one which I didn't know of.
"Your practice ends today right? Is it okay if we pick you up now?"
"Right now?"
I asked frantically, looking around for any signs of them.
"Just a few minutes more if that's okay with you!"
"I still have to see of the other teams. We also may have a short meeting after and then--"
"Calm down (F/n)-chan,"
He laughs.
