Whhaaa--We already reached 1k!!! Thank you so much for staying with me and reading this (awful) story, it really means a lot to me ('▽'ʃ♡ƪ) I actually didn't expect it to hit 1k so soon. Maybe i'll do a special or a bonus chapter if I have some time ( ̄▽ ̄)╭ Now on to the story!
It was still 5:04 am. I really don't know why I was wide awake, staring at the stars. It's been a while since I've seen stars this early in the morning. I wrap my arms around my body, protecting myself from the harsh cold winds. I was outside the gym's doors, sitting down on the stairs. It was stupid enough for me to think that the gym would be open at this hour. Everyone was still asleep.
I grab the maroon jacket from beside me and covered myself in its warmth. My tracksuit was still in dryer, since it didn't have enough time to dry overnight. It still had Atsumu-san's scent lingering to it, no matter how many times I washed it. It was embarrassing enough to be wearing their school's jacket. That's why I decided to only wear it on occasions like this.
I let out a sigh, watching my breath turn into a puff of smoke before disappearing. 'A cup of coffee would be nice..' My eyes instantly shined, while blaming myself at the same time for not thinking about it earlier. I jump up from the stairs and headed back inside. If I can remember properly, the cafeteria should be right around this corner..
'That's weird...Why are the lights on? Did they forget to turn it off yesterday?' I carefully slide open the door, adjusting my eyes to the bright light. I slightly let my guard down after seeing no one was there. I walked around for a bit and stopped at the counter.
My hopes of treating myself to some sweet, hot coffee died, when I only saw tea bags on the counter.
"I guess tea isn't too bad..I just need something warm."
"If that's the case, you wouldn't mind me joining you (L/n)-san?" I stumble back in surprise slightly hitting my back against the table behind me. It was Akaashi-kun. His black hair was messier than usual, and his metal blue eyes were shining despite the awful lighting in the room.
"A-Akaashi-kun..! I thought you were an intruder." He laughs lightly.
"My apologies for startling you. Maybe some tea can help with the cold?" He asks, holding out a cup of chamomile tea. I take the cup out of his hands carefully, not wanting to drop the cup of tea and embarrass myself. He holds the door open and walks out after me.
"How come you're awake at this hour?" He asks.
"I-I could ask you the same thing Akaashi-kun.." He hums in response.
"Bokuto-san kept rolling around his futon and accidentally slapped me in the face with his foot." I laugh a little before sipping some of the tea. We stop at the entrance of the gym and sat down at the stairs.
"I don't know actually.. I tried to sleep again, but my eyes were already wide open." A gust of wind slapped against me, sending shivers throughout my body.
"Do you know someone from Inarizaki (L/n)-san? If you don't mind me asking." He asks, making eye contact with me. I looked away, a slight blush dusting my cheeks.
"A f-friend gave it to me." I mumble, gripping the jacket tighter. He nods and stared forward.
The sun bloomed over the horizon, bathing us in a rosy glow. Mellow blues and pinks swirled together in the tangerine sky, almost like cotton candy. Everything suddenly became warmer as the orange rays kissed my skin. I stand up and stretched my limbs, letting the warmth seep into my body.
I glance over to Akaashi-kun, who was still looking forward. His eyes were almost the same color as the sky, reflecting the hues of amber the empyrean had. Just as the sun was about to envelop me completely in its warmth, I could feel liquid slide down my cheek.
