Chapter 9 Break up

"Ring ring ring!" "Aughh.... Nicki..." Miranda said tiredly. ".....what?......" Nicki said tiredly. "...turn it off... The ringing off....." Miranda said tiredly. "....isn't that your alarm clock?....." Nicki said tiredly. "Alarm clock! Nicki! Wake up!" Miranda said startled. "Sheesh Miranda. You don't have to shout." Said Nicki. "Don't you know today is the day Cass is coming!!! Hopefully no one ate the treats." Miranda said excitingly. "Let's go downstairs and check!" Nicki said excitingly. "Hi kids. You worked really hard on all these treats and you set up the party all by yourselves! I'm proud of both of you. Cassandra is going to love it! Come here you two. Let me give you two a hug!" Her mom said proudly. "Thanks mom. Your hugs are always the best. It was pretty tiring but it was fun. As long as I have my best friend with me. Everything is fun." Said Miranda. "Awwww thanks Miranda. Your the best. Thanks." Nicki said touchingly. "Well, it's what I do. Anyways, what time are we picking up Cass?" Miranda asked. "Right after school. Actually 10 minutes after school. Even if there's still 10 minutes, we have to be at the airport. Driving, then finding a parking spot. It's hard. We can get there on time though. What do you two say?" Her mom asked. "Okay." They said in unison. "Ring ring!" "Miranda someone's calling you." Said Nicki. "Oh yeah. I should answer it.

"Hello? Is this Dane?"

"Hey Miranda."

"How's my baerito?"

"Baerito?"

"Don't you know?"

"Nope"

"It's okay. Anyways, what's up?"

"It's going to be the best day ever."

"Really? How?"

"Don't you remember me telling you about my favourite cousin?"

"Hmmm... I'm trying to remember."

"Hey Dane." Said Miranda. "Hey what's up?" Dane asked. "Nothing much." Said Miranda
"Oh ok. Are you sure? It looks like there's a tear in your eye." Said Dane. "Sigh. It's just that I miss my cousin Cassandra. She was the best. She's two months older than me. She's really fun and every time I see her she makes me laugh in a way that I don't know. But now, now that I live so far from her I can only here her voice by call. I just miss her so much. I wish, I just wish she was with me." Miranda said sadly. "She sounds amazing. But hey, you have me and Nicki. Even your mom here for you. Don't let those emotions ruin your flawless face. I like it the way it is." Said Dane. Miranda chuckled. "Thanks Dane. You really know how to comfort a friend." Said Miranda. "Just a friend. Sigh." Dane whispered. "What's that?" Miranda asked. "Nothing." Said Dane. "Oh ok." Said Miranda.

"Haha. I remember that moment. You described her like she was there."

"Yeah. But guess what?"

"She's spending the rest of the year with us! Plus, she's going to the same school were in!"

"That's great!"

"I know right! Anyways, I want to ask you something."

"Hold on. I have to ask my mom."

"Okay."

"She said yes!!!"

"Yes to what?"

"We're having a party here at my house later when Cassandra arrives. Wanna come?"

"That would be awesome. I'd love to. Wait, can I come to the airport with you guys?"

"I'll ask my mom."
