Chapter 12: Love

Nathan's POV:
I wake up and see Naila lying on the bed peacefully sleeping. I look at the clock and it read 10:34 am. I must've overslept.

"Hey. What are you doing here?" Naila asks.

"I slept here?"

"Oh."

"What do I have to do to prove to you I'm worthy enough?"

"Proof? Make it up yourself."

"Whyyyyyyy."

"Because I said so."

"All right."

Miranda's POV:
We are all at school and somehow, we overslept so we're about an hour and 43 minutes late.

"Miss Jensen! You're late!" The teacher scolded.

"Sorry. Won't happen again."

"Who's your friend?"

"She just transferred. Cuz?"

"I'm Cassandra White. I just moved here..."

"She's my cousin."

"Ah. Well go take a seat Miss White."

"That was a close one!" Cass whispered to me. We take our seats, and we start studying of the test.

After school....

"This school is amazing!!!"

"Yeah.... Just wait 'til next year."

"Oh, whatever. So! How's your friend?"

"Naila?"

"Yeah."

"She's resting. She hasn't been discharged yet, but they're working on it."

"Oh okay."

We laughed and talked, and told stories. Until, a guy came up to us.

"Hi."

"Hello." We say in unison.

"Cassandra right?"

"Uh huh..."

"Would you like to go on a date with me?"

"Yes! Of course!"

"Great! I'll pick you up tomorrow at 7!"

"Okay!"

"Whoa.... You've already scored a date?!!!" I shout in disbelief.

"Yeah! BEST! DAY! EVER!"

At the hospital....

Nathan's POV:

"Hey."

"What are you doing here?"

"I brought you flowers." I say giving her the bouquet of flowers I bought.

"Wow.... Thanks. These are beautiful!"

"Your welcome. Chocolate?"

"Is that Mars?!!!"

"Yeah. Want some?"

"Sure!" She nods. I give her a giant chocolate bar, and she unravels it and eats it.

"Mmmm...." She moans. "This is satisfying."

"Glad you like it."

"But that's still not enough proof."

"I know. I'm just getting started. Maybe you should be the one being patient."

"Fine."

"Would you like some lasagna? It's homemade!"
