Happy reading!!

School that day was basically uneventful. I got invited to another party by Charlotte that I would not be going to and other than that nothing happened.

"So, you going to the swim team tryouts?" Morgan asked me, snapping me out of my daze. It was lunch time and I had spent 10 minutes of it staring at Annabeth - I regret nothing.

I looked up at saw that everyone was staring at me. I blinked,

"Why is everyone staring a-"

"Because your staring at me, Seaweed brain," Annabeth laughed. I felt my face get hot so I turned to face Morgan,

"I might try out... I don't know yet," I shrugged. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Thalia and Annabeth share a smug look.

"Okay, well they're tonight," Morgan told me. My eyes widened,

"Tonight?" I asked. I thought for a minute, "Okay, why not,"

I heard a groan from across the table. I looked over and saw that Travis was laughing, where Connor was pouting.

"I told you he'd do it," Travis yelled triumphantly. Connor rolled his eyes and stuffed his hand into his pocket. When he pulled it out, he was holding five drachma,

"What's that?" Morgan asked suspiciously. Every face at the table looked up in union, so fast you would have thought they all had whiplash.

"What?" Morgan asked innocently.

"Nothing?" I said unconvincingly. Morgan raised his eyebrows, but let it drop and returned to his lunch,

"So what about you?" I implored. Morgan frowned and pointed at himself questioningly. I smirked. Morgan shook his head,

"There's no way I'll make team," He said,

"Why not?" Annabeth asked. Morgan shrugged,

"Because Aiden is captain and he'll never let me on the team. He's such a jerk."

Annabeth looked at me meaningfully. I nodded,

"You do get what I'm trying to say, right?" She whispered to me. I stared at her blankly, followed by a long silence,

"No?" Annabeth face-palmed, "What?" I asked.

"You should run for captain, Seaweed Brain," Morgans head shot up,

"Percy, you should totally do that!" He told me. I grimaced, "Come on! Tryouts for captain are held half an hour before team tryouts,"

"Yeah, you were gonna tryout for the team anyway," Annabeth said,

"Why are you pushing this so hard?" I asked suspiciously,

"I'm not," She said. Her face was blank, but her eyes wouldn't give anything away. I narrowed my eyes.

"Fine, I'll try for captain,"

I know this was short, but I just need to post seeing as I've been MIA. Next chapter is coming soon! See you then!
