Unsteady - Stucky

4. Sam

It was the next day. Steve and Bucky decided to continue watching Star Wars. They were around 10 minutes into The Empire Strikes Back when they were so rudely interrupted by Steve's phone starting to buzz.

INCOMING CALL FROM SAM

"I'll be right back, Buck." He said and stood up from the couch to walk into the kitchen.

He pressed the little green button and brought the phone up to his ear.

"Steve Rogers."

"Hey man, it's me."

"Hey, Sam."

"Okay listen I got some pretty interesting news."

"Go on."

"So you know how basically the whole world is after Winter Soldier right now, us included?"

"Um yeah..?" Steve mentally facepalmed himself for not telling Sam about Bucky living with him now.

"Okay, so yesterday there was an old couple who gave a description about a man 'shady-looking man' sitting in the park. That description matches Bucky's pretty good."

"Sam liste-"

"Do you want me to go check it out? Steve this is so far the best lead we have had on him."

"Sam wait."

"Yeah?"

"Um.. can you come to my apartment?"

"Okay, sure man. I'll be there in 15" Sam concluded and hung up.

Steve took a deep breath and walked back into the living room where Bucky sat and fiddled with the side of his blanket. He had no idea how Bucky was going to react to this. Maybe he should've told Bucky before inviting Sam over? No, it'll be okay. Bucky would eventually have to meet new people anyways.

"Hey, Buck?"

"Yeah?"

"Okay, first of all, I'm sorry for not consulting with you before, but Sam is coming over." 

"Wait what?" Buckys eyes showed so many different emotions, all in one.

"Is that okay with you..?" Steve asked slowly, silently begging for Bucky to say yes. He looked very uncertain, thinking of different possibilities of what could happen.

"Um.. okay sure. I don't really mind. I have to meet new people at some point right?" He said with a nervous chuckle.

"Bucky, you don't have anything to worry about with Sam. He won't judge or be scared of you or anything."

"Yeah.. okay I believe you. Just nervous I guess." He said with a shrug. Steve smiled softly at him.

"I assure you, you have absolutely nothing to be nervous about." He said and sat down next to Bucky. "Should we continue watching the movie in the meantime?" He asked the brunette.

"Yeah sure."

After around 13 minutes of pure enjoyment of the movie, a knock came at the door. Bucky looked over at Steve, concern and worry filled in his eyes. Steve just looked back at him and smiled.

"Calm down, Buck. It's okay." He stood up. "You can just stay here, I'll get it." He said. Bucky nodded slowly and Steve walked over to the door. He took a deep breath before opening up, revealing a shaking Sam.

"Dude do you have any idea how cold it is outside? I was damn near freezing my ass off." Was the first thing he said. Steve just chuckled and shook his head.
