Small TW on this one for some slight gore in this chapter.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure this one was better than the last one." Steve exclaimed after they finished the movie.
"Oh, you just wait until the prequels," Sam said with a chuckle.
"No, I think I liked the last one more." Bucky said, but it came out pretty muffled since he was still leaning against Steve's neck.
"Should we just watch the next one right away or..?" Steve asked them both.
"No, it's fine I don't wanna overstay my welcome." Sam said and started to stand up.
"No, Sammy it's fine, we want you here, don't we, Buck?" Steve asked his sleepy friend.
"Mm." Was all the response he got.
"Plus it's like still a blizzard outside. You can at least stay until it calms down outside."
"Okay fine I guess I could stay for a little while longer." Sam concluded and sat back down.
Steve noticed Bucky was feeling down today, so he figured a little more company could help him.
Suddenly Bucky rose from the couch and walked over to Steve's window.
"You okay, Buck?" He heard Steve ask behind him, he said nothing.
He looked over the city of Brooklyn, white little dots falling down. They were everywhere, everywhere he looked it was only snow. Something about that must have sparked a memory because he was soon doubled over in agony.
"What're you drawing, Stevie?" Bucky walked over to Steve, who was sitting next to a window, snow pouring down. Their cat next to him.
"Alpine." Steve answered robotically. He was in deep focus to get every detail right. Bucky chuckled.
"Are you sure Alpine likes to model for you?" He asked and walked over to them. He pet Alpine on her head and she purred in satisfaction.
"Oh, I'm sure she loves it." Steve said with a smirk.
Bucky stumbled back at the sudden back and held the window ceil tightly. When the headache came back he tightly gripped his head.
"Bucky?" Steve ran over to him. "Buck, what's going on?"
"We had.. a.. cat..?" Bucky asked with his jaw clenched and his eyes shut. Steve blinked in chock and looked at him.
"Y-yeah we did. Um.. Alpine was her name." Steve said and smiled at the memory. Eventually, Bucky stood upright and looked out on the city again.
"You were small.. you were drawing. There was a blizzard and you sat next to the window. The cat was next to you." Bucky said, a little hesitant. He didn't want to have anything wrong.
"Yeah.. I-I remember that.. the winter of '38. Very cold winter, very cold.." he said and smiled again.
"I-is it okay if I go and get some rest..?" Bucky carefully asked Steve. He felt extremely lightheaded and dizzy.
"Yeah of course Buck. You can go lay down in my bed, I don't mind." Steve said and smiled gently at him.
"O-okay." Bucky said and went into Steve's room, stumbling a bit on the way. He went in and closed the door. Once he had closed the door, Steve sighed and put his head down in defeat.
"Dude." Sam quipped up from the sofa, Steve had completely forgotten he was there.
"Yeah?"
"What the fuck was that?"
