The orphanage said they would come pick the boys up as soon as the next day or as late as next month. Phil was nervous with his decision but decided it was for the best for all of them. It had been a week and the boys had no idea what was going to happen to them. But Tommy was wide awake one night and was somewhat thankful he was. He turned towards the slightly open-door hearing Phil talking to someone. The blonde looked back to his two sleeping brothers and decided to not trouble them. As he tip toed out of the guest room, he hid around the corner of Phil's room to hear parts of their conversation.

"Yeah, they're still here," Phil's voice was quiet, but Tommy had good hearing. "No, no, no. I was just wondering how long because I'm quite worried." The silence seemed almost well planned as Tommy start thinking through who Phil would be talking to at this time. "Oh you have some on the way. Great! Thanks Emma!"

Emma

Tommy's eyes widened in horror. He would always remember who Emma was. The short older woman was the first face Tommy had seen when he entered the strange old building. She wore a bright smile but the building's cold exterior and interior plagued Tommy with a sense of distrust. He stumbled backwards letting out a small whimper when one of the wooden planks creaked under his weight. Phil paused before rounding the corner finding Tommy in somewhat shock.

"Tommy..." the older male held up his hands to try and calm the youngest. "How much did you hear?" Tommy burst out crying racing downstairs crashing into Techno who had awoken due to the disappearance of the younger. Techno searched Tommy's eyes as to what was going on, but the child was out the front door immediately. Phil raced after him, but the 10-year-old was long gone. Heading back inside he was met with a hard glare and a worried one from the two boys remaining.

"What did you do," Techno's voice remained low in a threat as Wilbur hung to his side still quite groggy from sleep.

"I-" Phil sighed. "I'm sorry."

"Sorry won't bring Tommy back will it!" Techno was becoming more aggravated by the second. Phil hated this because they were all getting along so well until now. Phil started getting dressed to go outside and look for the younger.

"Where are you going?" Wilbur whispered half asleep.

"I'm going to go find Tommy before he is found by someone else or gets hurt," Phil muttered feeling absolutely slammed. "Stay here. The both of you. I don't want you two getting hurt as well." Techno seemed to go to protest before remembering the 15-year-old still attached to his left arm. He sighed going to the couch and flicking the TV on.

"Find him," Techno whispered. "He could be in the forest near the shed or Tubbo's house." Phil nodded and smiled to the pinkette for the help. Techno looked away and started chatting to Wilbur. And Phil was out of the house. That's when he realised the situation. It was snowing and Tommy would be emotional and stressed. It would be a long night.

Tommy had run until he was completely out of breath. He had ended up at the ruined shed. He entered feeling comfort within the small, destroyed building he once called his home. He smiled feeling all his worries disappear as he sat down against the wall and falling into a peaceful yet stress inducing sleep.

His dreams were plagued with all the stress in his life moulding into one thing. He was back at the orphanage. Miss Emma stood out the front a twisted smile with her hand extended. He turned to leave but crashed into Techno and Wilbur. Both boys had kind smiles on their faces lulling Tommy into a secure hug before a yell. Techno pinned him to a tree holding onto his throat. Tommy could see Phil and Wilbur behind him chatting happily. Tommy struggled in his older brother's grip until Phil approached placing a hand on the pinkettes shoulder.

"Good job son."

Tommy was shaken awake quite literally. Phil was crouched in front of him. He quickly swatted Phil's hands away as tears came to his eyes. He quickly reminded himself big men don't cry and tried to sniffle the tears away. It failed and Phil held his arms open knowing he just needed emotional comfort. Tommy reluctantly leaned into Phil sobbing.

"A-Are you getting... rid o-of us?" Tommy whispered.

"No of course not," Phil averted his eyes to the back wall regret washing over him like a tidal wave.

"But y-you said-"

"Shhhh," Phil stroked Tommy's head. "I wouldn't let them take you alright." Tommy nodded slowly and Phil helped him stand up. The 10-year-old refused to meet his eyes and Phil sighed. The two proceeded to make their way back to the house. Little did they know what was happening there.

Techno and Wilbur had quietly dozed off on the couch again before banging at the door startled the pinkette. He figured Phil forgot his keys and carefully but quickly got up resting Wilbur gently down on the couch. Approaching the door he stopped abruptly. There in the doorway was definitely not Phil. They were uniforms. Familiar ones. Orphanage workers. The man noticed Techno and pointed and smiled but Techno knew how fake that was. He quickly turned form the door much to their protests and went to the ouch shaking Wilbur awake.

"Hm?" Wilbur stirred keeping his eyes closed. The poor teen was absolutely exhausted. "Are they back?"

"No," Techno gritted his teeth sliding his arms underneath Wilbur's and dragging him upwards like a cat. "The orphanage people are here." Now that got him wide awake. Wilbur shot upright from Techno and the two made a run up the stairs and into the guest bedroom. Techno gently but directly shoved Wilbur towards underneath the bed to which the younger slipped under immediately. Techno followed wrapping his arms around the brunette who had begun hyperventilating.

"Techno," Wilbur huddled into Techno's body shaking wildly. "Whyaretheyhere?" Techno sh'd him as they heard something break. A window. Wilbur stopped trembling and breaths let alone words were barely shared between the two.

"Where are those little brats?" the woman spoke softly but loud enough for the two to hear them clearly. Wilbur had shut his eyes tightly. Techno wished to reassure him but couldn't give away their hiding spot. Wilbur knew he recognised the woman. She used to be the person who dropped him off to foster homes. He remembered the time at his 3rd foster house and she was picking him up headed for the orphanage.

"What did you do this time?" she scowled as she pressed the acceleration the car moving quickly along the frosty roads. He looked to his feet knowing all to well he had done nothing wrong. Wilbur had a panic attack after his 'father' had started yelling at him. Then his 'mother' had called the orphanage wanting to return him claiming he was causing trouble and had attacked them. Completely not true but he didn't like them anyways.

"I-I..." Wilbur took a shaky breath. "I had a panic attack..."

"THAT'S NO EXCUSE!" the woman slammed on the breaks at the red light and turned to face him. She then proceeded to scream about how he needed to try more and that he would never get a family. As Wilbur started hyperventilating, she noticed and slapped him across the face. "NEVER do that again!"

Wilbur let out a small sob being unaware of the danger that would cause until too late. Techno put a hand over his own mouth and Wilbur's waiting for the woman to enter. Footsteps sounded and soft tears fell silently from Wilbur's amber eyes. She approached the bed but saw the open window and scowled figuring they'd jumped. She proceeded to do the same yelling out to her partner what she found. As Wilbur scurried out in a panicked fashion Techno crawled out more slowly and supported his brother as they sat on the bed.

Techno's face hardened

This was Phil's doing
