Late into the night, (Y/n) sat at her desk in her small room, stitching up the seam in her dress. She didn't change from when she was at Will's, so she still had her trousers and blouse on. The tear was barely noticeable by this time, but she still had to finish it up. However, she jumped in her seat when the sounds of cannon fire began filling the air, and the scent of smoke flooded her nose.

Dropping her work, she ran to the window to see a black ship with black, ripped up sails firing its cannons at Port Royal. The town was in flames, and (Y/n) could see the people running around trying to find shelter.

Running downstairs, she looked to see Johanna in her nightgown, terrified as she looked out the window.

"Johanna! What's happening?" (Y/n) asked.

"Pirates are storming the streets!" Johanna cried, terrified. (Y/n)'s eyes widened, and when two bombs crashed into the windows, that's when she moved.

"Johanna! Get out of here!!" (Y/n) said, grabbing her sword and pulling her adoptive mother out of the building. They barely made it out when the bombs exploded, causing their home to catch fire.

Johanna covered her mouth in shock as tears filled both their eyes. Their home and life was aflame in front of them. (Y/n), looking around them, grabbed Johanna's hand and ran her towards an empty street. It would be safe enough.

"Stay here!" (Y/n) told her.

"What about you?" Johanna croaked.

(Y/n) unsheathed her sword and said, "I've got to go fight some pirates." With that, she ran off, Johanna calling after her in vain.

(Y/n), fueled by her anger, began cutting down any pirate in her way. As she did, she noticed Will with an axe and a sword doing the same. Will gave her a look that said 'what are you doing here?'.

"A pirate blew up my home! I'm only returning the favor!" (Y/n) shouted, angered. Will understood. That boutique was the only home (Y/n) ever knew.

Will got into fighting one of the pirates who used a hook and axe as his weapons. He grabbed Will by the back of his neck with the hook, and menacingly held up his axe. "Say Goo'bye!"

A cannon ball blew up the chain holding a sign above them. The sign distracted the pirate so Will could slip away, and the sign knocked the pirate into the shop behind him. "Goodbye!" Will said as he walked away.

(Y/n) slashed at a pirate, knocking them down, and turned to see Will staring at something. Looking, she saw her best friend being taken by the pirates attacking them.

"Elizabeth!!" (Y/n) shouted. Both she and Will were about to run after her, but a pirate in front of them stopped them in their tracks. A bomb was in his hand, and (Y/n) knew this was the pirate that blew up her home.

He looked down at their feet where a bomb was alight and about to explode. (Y/n) backed up in shock, but when the bomb didn't go off, the pirate frowned. (Y/n) and Will looked back up at the little pirate, ready to attack, but were both hit in the head with a candelabra by another pirate running behind them, arms full of treasure. Will and (Y/n) fell to the ground, unconscious. I guess this is what Jack felt like (Y/n) thought before darkness overtook her.

(Y/n) woke up with a terrible headache. She felt the bump on the back of her head, and looked to Will, who was still out cold. "Will. Will!" she shook him, but nothing. Rolling her eyes, she slapped him across the face. Will's eyes shot open as he put a hand on his now burning cheek.

"Ow!" he whined.

"Sorry, it was the only way to wake you up." (Y/n) said, helping him up. Looking around, the two of them saw the destruction from last night.

"Elizabeth." Will muttered, reminding (Y/n) of her best friend being kidnapped.

"We've got to talk to the Commodore!" (Y/n) said, and the two ran off to find Norrington. When they did, they saw him bent over a map, writing down their most likely courses. Governor Swann was nearby, stressed and worried over his daughter.

"They've taken her! They've taken Elizabeth!" Will said as he ran to the table where James stood.

"Mr. Murtogg, remove this man." James said, not looking up. Murtogg went to grab Will by the arm, but he shrugged him off.

"We have to hunt them down. We must save her!" Will stated.

"And where do you propose we start?" Governor Swann asked, stepping forward. "If you have any information concerning my daughter, please, share it!"

"That Jack Sparrow." Murtogg spoke up, and all eyes turned to him. "He talked about the Black Pearl."

"Mentioned it is more what he did." Mullroy added.

"Ask him where it is." (Y/n) offered. "Make a deal with him. He could lead us to it!"

"No." James sighed. "The pirates who invaded this fort left Sparrow locked in his cell. Ergo, they are not his allies." James looked to the Governor and said, "Governor, we will establish their most likely course-"

Will struck his axe down upon the map on the table, angry and frustrated. "That's not good enough!!" he shouted. (Y/n) winced slightly at his tone towards the Commodore.

James looked calmly down at the axe in his map, and picking it up, he said, "Mr. Turner, you are not a military man, you are not a sailor." The Commodore walked around the table to Will's side, and grabbed him by the arm, pulling him away. "You are a blacksmith, and this is not the moment for rash actions!" James lowered his voice and said, "Do not make the mistake of thinking you are the only man here who cares for Elizabeth."

Murtogg lightly grabbed (Y/n)'s arm and pulled her by Will's side. She shrugged her arm out of his grasp as Will did, and the two of them walked away from the scene.

"I'm sorry, Will. I really thought James would be more help." (Y/n) said.

"We don't need his help. Come on, (Y/n)." Will said.

"Wait, where are we going?" she asked.

"The prison. There's someone there I'd like to have a chat with." Will said.

"Wait! What about Johanna! I need to see if she's all right!" (Y/n) claimed.

"We'll go find her first. Don't worry. We just need to be quick." Will stated, and (Y/n) nodded.

She was relieved to find that Governor Swann had allowed Johanna to stay in his house on the account of their boutique being blown up. "A truly kind man" (Y/n) said, and she and Will ran off towards the fort.
