I lay on the bench in the mess hall, minding my own business while throwing a ball into the air and catching it. I had my eyes closed the entire time and didn't even hear footsteps. I opened my eyes when I felt a presence, I threw the ball up and before it could come back down. Someone caught it. I knew who it was, I sighed and sat up. "I'm in no mood for your shit today Neo" I simply said as I stretched, "what are you doing?" he asked as I didn't look at him, we had never gotten along. Don't know why, never cared as to why. "I'm meditating", "that's not how you meditate" he spoke as I rolled my eyes, "it's how I meditate, helps me clear my mind...now give me my ball back," I told him as I got off the bench and looked at him. "Why?" he asked looking at the ball, "because I want it back," I told him as he arched an eyebrow, "what do I get out of it?" he asked smirking slightly, I growled and punched him. He groaned as Morpheus, Link and Trinity ran in to see what was going on. "A punch in the fucking face" I growled as I took the ball out of his hand, "Y/n, what was that about?" Link asked as Neo held his nose, "he took my meditation ball and refused to give it back" I told Link, "Y/n, you can't just do that to the One" Morpheus spoke as I looked at him, "you're not my dad Morpheus..." I growled as I walked past him.

My father had been saved from the Matrix, along with my mother, and then finally me. Bt my parents died around the time I was pulled out. From what I understood, they worked on the Nebuchadnezzar, it was attacked by Squiddies, and they died. That was the whole reason Morpheus wanted me on the ship. Because he felt it was his fault and he was right. I blamed him for getting my parents killed.

~Neo's pov~

"The hell is her problem?" I asked wiping away the blood, "she blames me for the death of her parents. She doesn't get along with anyone on this ship. Well, no one but Link for some reason" Morpheus explained, "We should've warned you whenever we woke up" Trinity spoke as I looked at them, "so, she just takes her anger out on everyone on here but Link?" I asked, "not really, the reason she's so protective over that ball is that when she's mad, she meditates when she's throwing the ball into the air and catching it while she's laying down or throwing it against a wall and catching it. It helps her think and calms her down. She finds it soothing" Link explained, "hmm" I hummed, "all right, everyone get back to your stations, we're coming up to Zion in a week" Morpheus spoke as they all walked off.

*A few days later*

~Your pov~

I was down below with Neo, we were fixing the heating component for the ship, there was so rattling going on, then a small fire broke out, Neo was quick to put it out, and then he quickly grabbed me, "what the hell are you doing?!" I asked as he started patting my side, and that when I realized that my shirt had caught fire. He quickly took his shirt off and started to put out my shirt with his shirt, it wasn't helping a whole lot, I pushed him off of me and quickly removed my shirt. I threw it on the grate flooring and we stomped on the small shirt fire. Both of our shirts had holes burned into them, both of us were panting, shirtless, and standing really close to each other. "I was trying to save your life" he whispered as I realized there was a small gap between the two of us, and here I was wearing my pants, boots, and a bra. He was only wearing his pants and his boots. I blushed slightly, "t-thanks" I whispered as I stared into his eyes, I never noticed how cute he was up close. We continued to stare at one another, "are you okay?" he asked softly, "yeah" I nodded, "thanks...again" I spoke as he chuckled a little, "I just didn't want you to get hurt" he whispered as we stared into the eyes of each other. Both of us blushing, "hey, gu-...whoa! I can see I'm interrupting something" Link spoke as we looked at him, he raised his hands and backed away slowly, "I'm just gonna go...I didn't see this and I will not tell anyone" he spoke as he turned around and walked off.
