it had been a week since the incident with my dad, and everything. i was upset because nathan had stopped talking to me, i walked down the hall next to zora and maddi. i had to admit i really did miss talking, and hanging out with nathan.
"hey, he was an ass. do you want to go to a party this weekend?" zora asked putting her hand on my shoulder. i have no idea what my dad said to him, but i'd really like to know.
"oh um sure, what time?" i replied looking down at my feet, hopefully he was there...
"it's saturday at 8pm." zora smiled.
"okay ill see you then!" i waved them both off, heading over to the exit, and getting inside my moms car. my mom wasn't even upset about the nathan situation, she told me that as long as i was happy it didn't matter to her. i'm so glad that at least one person actually cares.
"hey hun, how was school. did nathan talk to you?" she asked as i shut the car door.
"it was okay, and no." sadness lacing my voice as i spoke, i wish this was as easy for me as it was for him.
"he'll talk to you sooner or later hun, don't worry." she assured, i gave her a small smile before looking back at my phone. i decided to check instagram, and of course the first thing that pops up is a picture of him.

i mentally rolled my eyes, as much as i didn't want to admit it he looked really good. i sighed as we finally arrived to my house, i got out of the car and ran my ass to my room, i did not want to be here right now. i looked over to my window and saw nathan, i saw a girl in there. i immediately got up and closed my curtains, wow i guess he really didn't care about me. just as i was about to doze off i heard my phone vibrate.

unknown: hey, you know your friend maddi is going with nathan to that party right?
me: um, how is this?
unknown: oh sorry it's jaedin.

me: ohh hi, and no i didn't know that. how did you?
jaedin: i heard them talking in class today, apparently she's at his house right now.
me: what the fuck! are you serious?!
jaedin: yeah i'm really sorry, i just thought i should tell you.
me: it's fine, thank you for telling me tho.
jaedin: yeah you're welcome, i was also wondering if you wanted to go with me to the party, that's if you're not already going with someone.
me: of course i'll go with you, but how'd you get my number?
jaedin: i asked your friend zora, she's pretty nice.
me: ohhh okay, and yeah she is haha.
jaedin: it's okay if you don't want to, but would you want to hang out, like right now?
me: yeah i would actually, my address is (random address)
jaedin: okay ill see you then ;)

i sighed, thinking how upset nathan would he. then i remembered 'yeah he's over there probably getting with one of my 'best friends' like what the fuck. i really trusted her and she goes and does this shit, when she knew how much he meant to be. do i not matter to anyone?!
well at least jaedin likes me and zora, so that's a plus. i decided to keep the same outfit on, but just brush my hair and fix my makeup, so i didn't look like a total mess. i went downstairs, and told my mom i was going out with a friend. then i decided to text zora, to see if she knew about any of this.

me: hey, do you know that maddi is at nathan's house?
zora🎨: what the fuck?! no are you serious, why would she do that!
me: i don't know but i just seen her over there. it kinda made me upset.
zora🎨: should i have a talk with her? this is not acceptable, she knew how much you liked him. i'm so sorry, i feel so bad.
me: no, no it's okay don't feel bad, plus i'm going to hang out with jaedin, and he's taking me to the party.

i quickly shut off my phone and headed to open the door. he looked really good, he definitely wasn't nath- no stop we are not going to think about him.
"you look beautiful," jaedin complimented me, i felt my cheeks heat up a bit.
"thank you, you look good too," i muttered still a bit shy. he pulled my chin up, and moved my hair behind my ear. before gently kissing my cheek, i blushed even more, that's the first time anyone had ever done that to me. i looked over to see nathan sitting on his porch, he look furious. oh well his loss. i smiled, before putting my hand in his and walking to his car.
