I Think I Have Feelings for Someone Else

Kageyama wondered around
the halls with a strawberry
flavored yogurt in hand.
She hadn't met him for
lunch, why?
He even asked her friends
and not even they knew
where she was.

He weaved his way
through crowds of people,
trying to get to the willow
tree at the corner of the school.

He took a seat on the
other side of the tree.
"Y/n!!" He heard a male
voice call and he fought
every nerve in his body
to not turn around.

"...Miko, Hello" Her voice
sounded on edge.
"I would love to stay
and chat but im late
and i really must be going"

"Wait" Miko grabbed her
hands to keep her from
leaving,
"Fujisaki, I think you are
the most beautiful
girl in the world and-"

She removed her hands
from his, "I-i-i mean...
wow. Um thank you Miko but-"

"Let me finish" His voice was
soft and he grabbed
her hands once again,
"Please accept my confession,
Fujisaki. I'll treat you the way
you deserve to be treated.
I'll cherish you every day.
I've loved you for years."
Idiot, these sound like terrible,
cliche wedding vows.

All she could do was stutter
over her words.
"M-miko... i-i-i'm thankful
that you like me.
Wow... i-i just didnt expect this"
Miko stared into her eyes eagerly,
"So do you accept my confession?"

Now more than ever,
Kageyama wanted
to stomp his way over to this
"Miko" guy and punch him
in the gut. However, if this Miko
could make his y/n happy,
then he should let them
run their course.
He also wanted to hear her
response.

"Um..." She slowly moved
her hands out of Mikos grasp,
"Miko, you're an amazing friend
but... i'm afraid thats all you'll
ever be. You see, I think i have
feelings for someone else.
But... thank you for the
confession. Now, i really must
be on my way."
She took off before giving the
guy a chance to respond.

The bell rang, signalling
that lunch was over.
Kageyama got up from the
foot of the tree,
half feeling pleased in her answer,
half curious about her answer.
Who could she have feelings for?

"You!" Miko growled as he charged at
Kageyama and grabbed him
buy the shirt.
"Son of a bitch, you dont deserve
a girl like Fujisaki. How could
she like a guy like you?!"

Kageyama grabbed Mikos hand,
"Dumbass, she doesnt like me either.
We're in the same boat. Fuck off" He shoved the guy off of him.
"Youre just rubbing it in, asshole.
She likes you and you know it"

"Seriously fuck off. If she doesn't like
you, that's not my problem."

The sun was setting and some
of the clouds were purple.
So far, the walk home had been
silent.

"Someone confessed to me today"
Her voice was low, she sounded
guilty. He knew she did nothing
wrong, so why the sour tone?
She was polite in declining his
confession. And even though he
knew the answer, he asked anyway,
"What'd you say?"

"I turned him down"
"Oh" He wondered if she was
going to mention her apparent
feelings for someone else.

"I'm sorry for not showing up a lunch.
He held me back. I'll make it up.
I'll make ya something so don't
bring any money or food. I'll even
make ya practice food"
She had finally looked at him
and he let out a breath of relief.
She was smiling.
