The truth

"Dude what the hell. You can't just
take me out of class like that!
And this isn't even the way
to the club room"

Her heart banged like a drum.
She was nervous but mostly upset
with herself because she never got
the opportunity to properly confess.
Who the hell confesses to someone
and then falls asleep!?!?!
She mentally groaned, her lip
was bitten raw.

Hinatas hand popped out from the
corner, a thumbs up,
a signal that they were near.
"What are you doing you idiot?"
He remained glaring at Hinata
until he was behind the building.
That's when he saw her,
he saw her clenched fists,
her furious expression, her tears.

He turned around and smacked
Hinata behind the head,
"What the hell?!"

"So what's your deal?" Her voice
defied the look on her face, it
contradicted her angered stance.
She sounded calm and ready
to listen. She sounded soft.

And, man, he really loved her.

"What" He stared at her blankly.
She slowly walked towards him,
"I said, what's your deal? What good
reason do you have for ignoring me
for 2 weeks? What good reason
do you have for dragging my friend
away from me too" She pointed at
Hinata, "If you wanted to leave me, fine.
But at least let me have Hinata too."

"What?" He blinked back and
forth between Hinata and Y/n.

"Its hopeless" She dully chuckled.
"This was a mistake"
She was about to walk away when
Hinata signed something to
Kageyama, who signed something
back. They seemed to be mentally
arguing.

In the end, Kageyama was
defeated. All it took was for Hinata
to point out the pained look
on her face and he cracked.
He cracked because he hated seeing
her like that. He hated to see her
without a smile.

"Damn it" He looked the ground
angrily, as if it had put him in
this position. Then he looked
at her and as always,
his eyes softened.... just a little.
But it was enough to notice.

For the first time in all the years
they had known each other,
in all the time she had been
in love with him, she finally noticed
the dilation in his eyes.
She missed it countless times before
but this one was hard to miss.

"I like you too alright? I just
didn't know how to tell you"
He sounded angry but
she knew him better than that.
She knew that they didn't
just like each other.
That's where the unspoken
rule kicks in. Some things just
don't need to be said out loud.
They both knew that they
love each other now, so there
was no need to say it.

Her mouth opened and closed,
she waited so painfully long
to hear that. Now that it had
actually happened,
she didnt know what to say.

Neither of them did.
And for a second, they forgot
about the spectator.

"WOOOOOHOOOO" Hinata
cheered and clapped Kageyama on
the back, "Maybe you won't be such
a hardass now!"

"SCRAM" He glared at Hinata until
he felt a small pair of arms wrap
around his waist.
She buried her face into his chest,
the poor boy froze, his mind
short circuited, like water had
been spilt onto the motherboard.

She sniffed and muttered a
small, "Thank you".
He wasnt sure what she was
thanking him for but he wasn't
about to protest.

She smiled in his chest.
She could hear his heart race
at a million miles an hour.

She was definitely going to
tease him about this later.
