Used to you

Somewhere along the way,
Kageyama found himself
getting used to her.
He had trouble reading other people
but with her, it was simple.
He knew exactly what to look for,
and exactly when he needed to look.
He unknowingly memorized her
body language, her expressions,
how her eyes would often
say what she verbally couldnt.

After the years, he took notice
of the small things she did and
he not only learned to love it, but he
learned to appreciate it too.

When she was in full
concentration mode, her
tongue would stick out.
Like when she would but cutting
a paper, or focusing on a math
equation, or reaching for something
on the top shelf.
Of course, she didnt know this,
not until he pointed it out.
It was when she stopped sticking
out her tongue, he realized just
how much he loved it. It was a small
act but it was adorable.
A few times, he caught her sticking
her tongue out and then, she would
catch herself too. Her brows would
furrow and she'd frown.
It took a while for her to stop caring.
She started to do it more often,
and when she did, he stared
without shame.

He learned that when she bit her
lips raw, she was beyond nervous.
When they took exams, when they
studied, when she applied for
Universities. All the things that
required her patience, she wore
herself dry with worry.
She'd pace around and bite her lips
till they bled.
And when she'd get positive results,
she'd complain about how her
lips ached.
He laughed at her every single time.

When she was in deep thought,
her nose would crinkle and when
he'd ask, "What are you thinking?"
She'd say, "How'd you know, Tobio?
You some sort of mind reader?"
But he learned from the total
concentration thing to not point
out these little details about herself
because she only saw them as flaws.
So he selfishly kept it to himself.
He thought it was especially cute when
she'd crinkle her nose and narrow
her eyes at a plain wall. She'd stare at
it as if it were an enemy.
He'd wait for a while before asking
because he truthfully wanted to
admire what she looked like.

Initially, he found her jokes painful.
Some would say that she had 'Dad'
humor. Sometimes, he'd stare
at her like she were a moron.
She never noticed it because she
was too busy laughing at her own jokes.
Eventually he would laugh, not because
it was funny, but because her laughter
was contagious. When he saw her smile,
it was hard not to smile himself.
Though, he did remember one
dad joke she told him. It was the
only one he found funny.

She skipped her way over to him
during one of their breaks at practice.
"Tobioooooo, i have a joke"
He stared at her blankly.
Yes, he adored her, but her jokes
were downright terrible.
"Why do you never pick a fight
with a dinosaur?"
He blinked, "why"
"Because you'll get jurass kicked"
There was nothing particularly funny
about the joke, but he laughed
because it was a dumb joke.
Mildly funny.
Though Tsukishima was caught
snickering and tried to cover it
with a cough.
"Did she-did she just say ass"
Nishinoya stared at her with visible
stars in his eyes.

Dare he say it, but he also
got used to hearing her
cheer in the stands.
She never missed a single game.
Sometimes, when he had
the chance, he'd search for her
in the bleachers and most
of those times, she was reading
and biting her lip. He didn't
care that she wasn't paying attention,
he was thankful that she was
there in the first place.
You know, moral support.
He also noticed that whenever the
crowd got wild, she did too.
"COME ON TOBIO!!" She'd shout
in her overly loud voice.
And when she and Hinata became
friends, her cheering was more frequent.
"LETS GO HINATA! I BELIEVE IN
YOU TOBIO"
it didn't even bother her that
the surrounding people stared at
her as if she were a nutcase.

And when the games were done,
she race to the gyms entrance
and she'd hug them both
(She hugged Kageyama longer).
She did it every time, whether they
won or lost.

He was so painfully used to her
and a large part of him was afraid
that if she were to leave, everything
in him and around him would change.
His drive to win wouldn't be the same.
He'd miss her total concentration
face, her wrinkled nose, her bitten
lips. He'd miss the way she would
passionately talk about her
new romance novel, as if she was the
main character in the story.
He'd miss her after-game hugs and
her loud shouts from the bleachers.

He was used to her.
