I heard birds chirping and slowly opened my eyes. After realizing where I was, my eyes shot wide open and I nearly jumped off the couch.

"Spencer," I said while frantically trying to wake him up. "Spencer!"

Spencer fell off the couch in surprise. He looked around to get his bearings before he jumped up in a panic.

"It's six-thirty!" he exclaimed.

"I know," I said. "I don't have any clothes!"

"You can wear something of mine?" Spencer offered.

"You're a giant compared to me," I told him. I thought for a minute before making a decision. "You go get ready, and then drop me off at my place. I'll shower and get dressed, and I'll head over as soon as I'm done. There's no point in us both being late."

"But this is as much my fault as it is yours, Jordan," he said. "I feel bad letting you take the fall."

"Don't worry about it," I said with a smile. "We'll just say you owe me."

My late arrival earned me a stern look from Hotch, but other than that, everything seemed to be fine when I arrived at the office. Entering the bullpen, I saw Spencer working on his files, his tongue sticking out the corner of his mouth like it usually did when he concentrated. Meanwhile, Morgan and Emily were goofing off.

"Hey Short Stack," Morgan said as soon as he saw me. "Did you oversleep because you were so tired from your movie night with Reid last night?"

"Yeah," Emily said, joining the conversation. "How was your movie night?" She sent me a wink that only I could see. I chose to ignore it.

"It was good," I told them. "We watched Saw and Chucky."

"Sounds fun," Emily said with a slow nod.

I shook my head at her a disapproving look while Morgan stared at us, obviously confused. Good. Let's keep it that way.

I was about to get to work when I felt my phone buzz in my pocket.

Spence: Dinner tonight?

Me: like a second date?

Spence: Yeah, if that's okay with you.

Me: that is more than ok with me, I would love to

I put my phone away and looked up at Spencer. He was smiling just as big as I was.

My parking space was right next to Spencer's, so we walked over to our cars together.

"So where am I meeting you?" I asked him.

"Well I found this place not too far from your house," he told me. "It reminded me of Gina's."

I started to laugh.

"No way!"

"You don't like it?" Spencer asked as his face fell.

"No," I said. "I love it." He let out a sigh of relief. "I'll meet you there. Drive safe, okay?"

"You too."

I got into my car as I got the address from Spencer. Paul's Family Eatery. It sounded cute. I pulled out of my garage and followed Spencer. I didn't even need to input the address into my GPS. I just followed Spencer the whole way there.

"Thank God you're here," Spencer said to me as soon as we met up. I looked up at him questioningly. "You need to protect me. I have a tail."

I let out a small laugh and gave him a playful push before we headed inside the restaurant. I could tell why it reminded Spencer of Gina's. It had a very homey feel to it. We were greeted by a young boy, no older than sixteen.

"Welcome to Paul's Family Eatery," he said with a bored expression. "Will it just be the two of you dining with us tonight?"

We nodded.

"This way please."

The boy led us to a table by the window. I could see the park from where we were sitting. The way it was lit up at night was absolutely beautiful.

"It's quite the view," I said with a smile.

"Yeah," Spencer agreed. "Maybe after dinner, we could go for a walk?"

"That sounds great."

We were interrupted with two glasses of water being placed on our table along with two menus.

"Hi," I heard a female voice say. I looked up to see a middle-aged woman with a notepad. "I'm Maggie, and I'll be your waitress tonight. I hope my son Ryan was a good host to you." So it really was a family eatery. "Can I get you started with anything to drink?"

Spencer and I looked at each other.

"I think we're both good with water," he said. "Thank you."

I absolutely loved how much confidence he was starting to gain.

"Sure thing," Maggie said. "I'll give you some time with those menus."

"So what looks good?" I asked.

Spencer shrugged.

"Everything looks great if I'm being honest," he said. I smiled as I suddenly got an idea. "What is it?" he asked with an amused expression.

"Do you trust me?" I asked him.

"With my life," he told me.

"Well I trust you too," I said. "And that's why we're going to order dinner for each other."

Spencer shook his head and laughed.

"You are something else," he said. "You know that, Jordan?"

I smiled in response.

After a few minutes of deliberating over our menus, Maggie came back with her notepad.

"What can I get you gentlemen?" she asked.

"He will be having the spaghetti and meatballs," Spencer said, motioning to me. I smiled.

"And he," I said, motioning to Spencer. "Will be having the grilled chicken will a side of mashed potatoes and steamed veggies."

Maggie smiled at us before picking up our menus and walking away.

"Some spaghetti and meatballs would really hit the spot right now," I said with a laugh.

"And I love the sound of grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables," Spencer said in return.

I let out a satisfied sigh.

"I knew this would be fun," I laughed.

Dinner went by quick, too quick, and the walk even quicker. Before I knew it, we were back at our cars.

"I had lots of fun tonight," I said.

"I did too," Spencer replied. "In fact, I had so much fun, that I was wondering..."

"You were wondering?" I knew what he wanted to say, but I wanted him to say it.

"I was wondering if you wanted to be my boyfriend?"

As soon as the words came out of his mouth, Spencer's cheeks turned a deep red.

"I would love to be your boyfriend," I said with a nod and a smile.

"Really?" He seemed genuinely surprised.

"Yeah, really," I laughed. "Don't sell yourself short, Doctor."

He grinned bigger than I had ever seen him grin before, and he pulled me in for a long, passionate kiss. After that, we went our separate ways.
