I Just Wanna Play In The Sun (Bondi Rescue)

Chapter Eight

- Lilo’s POV

Thank you! No sharks! That would have been annoying on my first day now wouldn’t it? I have to say I am very relieved. Sharks sometimes mean dead people. Nahh not the best combo!

Lunch time! Treating all these people makes me hungry. Kerrbox and Gonzo took me out to a local lil’ eating place. It was nice and small. I like that.

“Just some fries please!” I chirped o the dim looking guy behind the counter. To the right of a guy was a tall tanned woman, who had blondey-brown hair. She looked as if she was a model but I don’t know. The boy signalled me to go to the girl. I did and paid her. Yep, she definitely did not belong here. Her name badge said Kelsey. Kelsey, Kelsey kelsey-kelsey! I think the joy of no sharks has got to me!

“Hey Kelsey how you doing?” Troy chirped to the girl. She smiled, showing off a perfect set of pearly whites.

“I am doing fine. Who is this?” She asked signalling to me. I was too busy eating fries to answer.

“This is Lilo! New rookie.” Gonzo said, slinging an arm over my shoulder. Kelsey nodded, impressed.

“Awesome. Needed a girl on that team.” I laughed. It was for some reason such a manly job.

“This is Maxi’s girlfriend, Kelsey.” Gonzo introduced. Ohh.  “Anyway. See you later Kels.” Gonzo led me outside and I waved to Kelsey. We sat on one of the benches.

“So is she like a model or something. Because damn, she is like Woah!” I blurted, receiving a laugh from Kerrbox. He nodded, taking a sip of his drink.

“Yeh part time. Surprised she scored with someone like Maxi!” We all laughed at this. From what I’ve heard about Maxi, it is kinda true.

“Tell us something about you Lilo.” Troy suggested. I thought about it.

“Urr, well I’m not the luckiest gal in the world. I got straight A’s at school.” I thought about it. Not much was interesting. “Not sure really, I love Disney. And I am going to find some hair dye from that lil’ shop over there, to dye my hair blonde.” I nodded. Kerrbox had a mischievous look playing in his eyes.

“Go and get some. We’ll still be here.” He suggested. I finished the last chip and wandered over with some money. It was a cute lil’ shop, it was like a small convenience store. It had everything. Soon I found the isle with the dye. Honey-blonde seemed to be awesome. After I paid, I went back and found Kerrbox not there.

“Where’s Kerrbox?” I asked slipping my money in my pocket. Troy replied.

“He had to go run and errand.” I didn’t trust the look in Gonzos’ eyes.

After pack up…

“Kerrbox have you seen the hair dye I bought a lunch time?” I called looking around for it. It wasn’t where I left it. Kerrbox came round the corner and handed it to me. “Thank you! Tomorrow I shall be blonde-ish.” Kerrbox let out his whole hearted laughs.

“No worries.” I walked out finding Adriel/ Bacon waiting for me. He hugged me then we started walking back home.

“So how was your first day?” I asked, looking out to the water again.

“It was fun. Two rescues. You?” I groaned, how come he got to do rescues. Not fair!

“I just sat in the tower and treated people all day! Not as fun as rescuing people!” Bacon laughed then nodded.

“Anyway, this is my stop. See you tomorrow!” I hugged him then carried on up to my house. When I got there the lights were on. Presume Mouse was over then. Turning the key in the lock, I called out after I entered.

“Mickey is that you?” After a minute or two, he appeared out of the living room, a smile on his face.

“How was your first day then?” He asked, hugging me. I breathed in his familiar scent and replied.

“It was fun. May have been a shark. But don’t think there was.” Mickey chuckled.

“Lucky you.” He joked. “Anyway was just unpacking some of your boxes. Your foods in the fridge and all those places. See you tomorrow at five?” I nodded, kissed him on the cheek and went in the kitchen, letting him let himself out. Most of the boxes were unpacked down here. Going upstairs, I decided to do my hair now.

Following the instructions, I sat down for a while, leaving it to dry naturally, after washing it out. I hadn’t looked at it yet. I kinda don’t want to.

Ok, I can’t wait any longer. Getting up I wandered in to the bathroom, looking in the mirror. Oh my giddyard. I’m guessing Kerrbox did this! I can’t go to work with bright blue hair! I checked the packet again. It was definitely Honey-Blonde! I do not like rookie jokes!
