Lilo’s POV
Mouse laughed at me every time he looked at me during our run. God, this is embarrassing! First day as well. Thought they would have waited a few days. Mickey said it was awesome but I now stood out like a sore thumb. To be honest it was growing no matter how might it was.
I was on my way to the beach and was getting quite a few odd looks from people. I had a beanie on so it covered some at least. Just realised it matched my lifeguard tee.
“Oh wow. What happened Lilo?” Troy asked, smirking slightly. Giving him a sarcastic smile, I carried on in.
“Where is Kerrbox?” I asked Troy as he followed. He shrugged. From outside I heard his unmistakeable laugh. I was on a mission. Don’t know what it was just seemed like a cool thing to say.
“Seriously?” I asked him, letting him take in the brightness of my hair. Kerrbox laughed again clapping like a seal. “It hasn’t lost any colour yet by the way?” I commented, starting to laugh myself.
“Hey rookie jokes keep everyone happy.” Kerrbox jested. Bacon soon joined in laughing, trying to figure out what happened.
“Kerrbox changed the hair dye I bought yesterday, from blonde to a bright blue!” Bacon’s eyes were now watering. He looked cute when he laughed.
“It suits you.” Was all he managed to get out.
“Come on guys. Lilo you are with Tom. Rescues today hopefully.” I clapped excited.
Tom and I were sitting just outside the flags on one of their car things, blue rhino. Tom was talking to a lady he had just saved, which left me to look at the water. A young girl, middle teens, seemed to not be able to get anywhere against the rip.
“Tom should I go to the girl right there?” I interrupted and pointed to where she was. Tom looked at her for a second, excusing himself from talking to the lady. For a few seconds I thought he didn’t know which person I pointed to then he replied,
“Go out and see if she’s ‘right.” I did as Tom said, and then took my blue lifeguard tee of leaving my bikini thing. I didn’t want to take the shorts of they were comfortable. Grabbing the board, I was over whelmed by how heavy it was. The ones I used to use were more light weight. Running in to the water is something you have to perfect otherwise it is extremely difficult. By the time I was on my board, which was only a few seconds, I could see that the girl was struggling now and anytime she could go under.
Paddling out as fast as I could, strained the muscles in my arms. Hadn’t used them like this for a while. Dammit, she was starting to go. When I got to her she was exhausted. Grabbing her arm, before she went under again, I hauled her on to my board. She just lay there tired. Positioning my board so that when we get hit by a wave we flipped, I looked behind me. A small wave was approaching. Pulling the legs of the girl so she was further back, I started to paddle. The wave lifted us up but we got an easy ride to shore. Jumping off, I went to help the girl.
“You ‘right?” I asked her, steadying the board in the water. She rubbed her eyes and I gave her a hand up. “Next time swim between the red and yellow flags?” I pointed to the section that was safe. She nodded.
“I started in there.” She mumbled, “Somehow ended up there, struggling to get back to shore.” I nodded and patted her back.
“If you start to feel unwell please let us know.” I smiled and she walked off. Tom cheered me on as I walked back to him, making me blush a little.
“Yeah! First rescue Lilo!” He hive-fived me as I got my towel to dry me off. First rescue here, pleased! But suddenly I felt so depressed and wondered what would have happened if I didn’t save her. Lately this has been happening a lot and I don’t know why.
~Sorry it's so short but that's all i could do. SO keep comenting and voting as ya do! What do think is wrong with Lilo? Anywya love y'all. Nattyx~
