(This story was made a few years ago so please excuse a lot of the spelling and grammar mistakes, I'm not editing these btw)
It was eight o'clock P.M and Veronica finally arrived to her destination after hours of sitting in traffic, the Johnson's estate. The polished mansion's silhouette casted over her as she walked faintly towards the two story building's entrance. Something in her stomach made her organs feel like they were twisting and turning like a worm trying to escape a birds grasp. The whole area sent disturbing vibes that made Veronica want to turn back and go home, but she desperately needed the money. So the only job she believed would be best was babysitting. At least until she got enough cash to get an actual house instead of a demolished apartment.
As Veronica went to ring the doorbell, The large mansion's door abruptly swung open, revealing Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. Their rather large smile's sending an uneasy feeling much stronger than the complex itself. Mr. Johnson wore a dark blue tuxedo with his brunette hair slicked back with gel. Mrs. Johnson wore a simple light blue silky dress that stopped at her knees along with her blond hair curled; a touch of ruby red lipstick; and blue eyeshadow.
"Thank you so much for watching our daughter's, Veronica", Thanked Mr. and Mrs. Johnson synchronizing.
They then urged Veronica to follow them inside their luxurious home.
The house was neat and tidy, and had a burning chimney which illuminated off the walls of the living room. The married couple left for a second, leaving Veronica standing awkwardly in the living room. The rich couple came back down the stars and two girls stood in front of their parents. "This is our daughter Abigail. She's ten. not much of a talker.", Mr.Johnson introduced the oldest daughter. Abigail had gorgeous curly blond hair with a little pink bow placed on the side of her head. She wore a fluffy light blue dress that went to her knees. Abigail only stared emotionlessly at Veronica.
"And this is Emily. She just turned seven today"
Emily smiled happily at Veronica while she twirled back and forth, making her pink dress and dirty blond hair swish along with her movement. " H-Hello im Veronica. I'll be watching you two while your parents are gone ". Veronica waved with a small asuring smile at the girls. Emily waved back but not Abigail. Abigail only made a "hum" sound as a reply. Mr. Johnson walked over to the door and opened it, letting Mrs. Johnson walk out first. Before the wealthy man shut the door behind him he looked over his shoulder at Veronica and whispered: " Wish you luck... ", before leaving. Veronica stood looking at the door baffled.
Emily tugged on Veronica's Maroon sweater eagerly. " Could you play with me? ", Emily asked while slightly jumping. Veronica smiled at her as a reply and followed the sweet little girl up the stairs and to her room. Emily ran and slid over to her large toy box and pulled out two barbie doll's. One had its head ripped off and its foot missing. The other just had red stains on its body and eyes gouged out.
The babysitter was handed the Barbie with its missing head which sent shivers down her spine. Veronica stared at the doll before looking down at Emily already at the large playhouse that sat next to her bed.
" Come on! Let's start playing "
But wait, where was Emily. She wasn't actually there next to the playhouse. It was just pillows that fell from her bed. Then where was her voice coming from. Veronica looked around the room. Nothing of course. " Emily? Where are you?.. ", Veronica called out for Emily. Veronica went to walk out the room to look for Emily but she got a tap on her back. Veronica jumped and slightly scratched before turning around. It was Emily. " Where are you going, Veronica? "
She was going to reply but something seemed off about the little girl's features. Her pupils were now smaller and the corner's on her eyes were red. " your not going to leave me like my parent's do... ARE YOU? " , Emily asked as the tone in her voice suddenly changed dark.
