A quick thing I wrote awhile ago to help comfort myself. I didn't know where to publish this and I didnt want to make a Jotaro one shot book. This is quickly typed out and sort of writing practice so sorry if this is bad.
Jotaro sat alone in the living room reading up on the happenings in Japan from the local newspaper. The evening was a quiet one, both you and Jotaro doing your own things. You sat outside alone accompanied by the garden that surrounded the whole backyard of your guys traditional Japanese home, crotchet needle and yarn in hand. You were finishing up on the blanket you were making for Jotaro as a gift without his knowing. The blanket had a gradient of different blue hues with a dolphin crotchet over on the bottom left corner. You didn't often crotchet but every once in a blue moon you'd be tempted to make something. As a child you'd crotchet with your aunt who taught you the basics.
" All done! ", You state to yourself triumphantly as you held the blanket out in front of you, looking over the stitching to make sure it was ready to give to your husband. You got up from your squat position and carefully folded the gift, heading off to Jotaro with a smile on your face and the blanket held against your chest.
Jotaro looked up from his paper at the sound of approaching footsteps, already knowing who it was from the lightness of each step on tatami matts that made up the floor. He turned to look over his shoulder a ghost of a smile on his face once he saw your bubbly expression. Jotaro took notice of the blue blanket held in your arms which peeked his curiosity. " What'd you got there ", Jotaro questioned as he stood up to stand in front of you, his tall frame towering over your smaller frame.
" I made you something, I thought you'd might like it ". You held out the blanket in front of you, you stood eager with anticipation as you waited for his reaction.
Even if you expected the same expression each time as he was a man with hidden emotions, but being around him for many years helped you determine what exactly he felt with the slightest glint in his eyes. Jotaro took the blanket held out to him, his fingers lightly grazing your own in the process. His face felt warmer when the blanket unraveled to show a sea of different blues with a dolphin on the bottom. It was simple yet still stuck out. " I didn't know you could crotchet ", Jotaro says looking from the blanket to meet your eyes. You chuckle lightly, eyes darting to the side then back to meet his aqua orbs once more.
" I learned from my aunt years ago. Its very rare for me to crotchet something now ", You noticed the blush now becoming more prominent on his face. He had the blanket folded back up and placed on the futon next to him. " Do you like it? ", You ask nervously as you couldn't quite tell what he was feeling at that moment.
He nodded slightly. " C'mere ", He motioned with his built arms stretched open, awaiting a hug from his wife. You gladly accepted the offer, your arms wrapped tightly around his torso as your head rested on his chest. Jotaro embracing you tightly with his head placed on your head, taking in your scent while you listened to his steady heartbeat through his black cotton turtleneck. You two stayed in that position comfortably in silence, listening to faint sounds generated outside until Jotaro spoke. " I love you (Y/N) ", Jotaro whispered with a peck to your temple. " I love you too, Jojo ". With the mention of his nickname coming from your lips made his heart pace quicken despite hearing it come from you countless times. It never faltered to send his mind racing. His face growing a deeper red as he hid his face in your soft hair, not being able to hide behind his white hat as it remained on the nightstand in the bedroom. You laughed lightly at your husbands actions.
" embarrassed? ", You teased, pulling away to look up at his flushed expression. " Yare yare, shut up woman ", Jotaro stuttered out while avoiding your gaze by staring to the side in response to your light teasing. You two sat at the futon together, him pulling the blanket around the both of you for it was big enough. You both dozed off the rest of the evening in the comfort of each others presence.
