Jocelyn waited patiently as Miles talked with a group of individuals he seemingly knew. She could tell from their animated body language and Miles' bunched shoulders that they were complimenting him about something.

"Excuse me, could you move that divider?" A voice caused her to jump slightly.

Two men stood on the opposite side of a large painting- a white sheet draped over the front so one couldn't see what it was.

"Yeah, sorry." She muttered as she hustled to help them. The divider slid easily and she made sure to place it close to the wall so the men had ample space to continue wheeling the piece to its arranged spot.

"Thank you." They spoke in unison as they slowly wheeled it past her.

Jocelyn's eyebrows shot up as she noticed the signature on the back of the work. A bold black box of letting standing brightly against the white background.

"Um, actually, could one of you point out the metro station on this thing?" She thought quickly as she pulled out the map given out for tours.

Stepping closer, she could clearly see the letters on the painting now. "Yeah, it's on Foxhound drive."

"No, it's not. He's an idiot, the main entrance for the North tracks are on Linex." The other stepped around the painting to begin pointing out a route to the station.

"I think I know what I'm talking about. You know what, this is why I requested a transfer." The two men stepped from the painting as they snatched the map back and forth.

The nosy part of Jocelyn listened for a few moments more before pulling her phone out to quickly snap a picture of the signature. Once she was sure she had multiple clear shots, she closed the camera app and opened directions to the station.

"I think I'll just use my gps." She spoke over the arguing men.

"See! Even strangers don't want to put up with you." They continued as one of the men balled up the map and threw it at the other.

Jocelyn stifled her giggle, moving back towards Miles. He peeked at her over his shoulder, a large smile spreading on his face as they locked eyes. She placed her hands behind her back as she played coy.

Thankfully, their conversation wrapped up moments later and he jogged lightly back to her. "I'm sorry about that."

"It's fine. I see you're the life of the party." She joked as he threw his arm over her shoulder and walked them to the entrance.

"Hardly." The downplaying of compliments wasn't new. Often she wondered if he knew just how amazing of a person he was from his caring nature to his passion for his career.

"Penny for your thoughts?" He muttered as they finally stepped into the chilly late night air.

"I'm gonna need more than a penny." She teased, stepping from his embrace before interlocking their hands. Under the outside lights of the exhibit, his features seemed more pronounced and there was something magical in the air.

"How about," he tapped his foot in faux thought, "some ice cream?"

"Mm, I'd love to but it's nearly 3am and I've got work tomorrow." The reminder of her schedule sobered the moment as he nodded in understanding.

"How about you come spend the night with me tomorrow then?" Pulling her back into his chest, he dropped his hand to her waist.

"I'd love to."
...

Jocelyn hurriedly pulled the heels from her feet as soon as she entered her apartment before rushing to pull the box from under her bed. She opened her camera roll, sitting the phone beside the box, then began rummaging for the numerous notes Miles had attached to her flowers.
