Jocelyn let out a content sigh as she snuggled closer into Miles' side. The sound of whatever movie he'd been watching had woken her up, but the warmth and feel of his body was quickly lulling her back to sleep. His arm was wrapped around her, an absentminded caress along her shoulder and arm his own comfort. Just as her eyes began to feel heavy, she felt the annoyance of a heavy bladder.
"What's wrong?" Miles mumbled as she attempted to sit up.
"Gotta pee." The statement released his hold on her. Jocelyn rolled to the edge of the large bed before stretching with a loud groan.
Her feet padded across the spotless, dark wood flooring as she made her way to the bathroom nestled in the corner of the large room. It was just as extravagant as the rest of the home with dark marble counters and bright porcelain pieces.
Jocelyn placed the toilet seat down, rolling her eyes at the typical male action, then settled on the seat to relieve herself. When she finished, she paused as she tried to figure out how to turn on the sink.
The top was smooth and there was no lever to pull. Assuming it was automatic, she placed her hands under the spout smiling as water trickled out.
"You should put some instructions over the sink." She joked as she opened the door and turned the light off.
"I think it's fairly easy to understand." Sitting up, he pulled the covers back for her to climb back into bed.
"If you can guess correctly." Jocelyn groaned as she climbed from the edge of the bed to the middle. Settling back into his side, she threw her leg over his.
"Well, you did, didn't you?" The remark caused her to lift her head, a surprised expression on her face.
"I-I'm sorr-"
"No, that was good. I didn't know you had that much sass, Mr. Ellis." She interrupted the nervous stutter with a chuckle.
A mumbled string of words left him that caused Jocelyn to lift her head from his chest. "What?"
"Nothing," he smiled stiffly, his eyes shifting back to the tv screen, "do you want to pick a new movie?"
"No, what'd you say?" Sitting up, she laid a hand on his chest to keep herself from being pulled back into the embrace by the hand along her waist.
"It's really nothing. I just said," he hesitated and Jocelyn immediately knew he was going to lie, "that um no one calls me Mr. Ellis. That's my father."
A content smile from the lie spread across his lips and Jocelyn rolled her eyes. Miles was never one to lie hence why he was so bad at it. On the rare occasions when he did lie, he often gave himself away in the end with a smile that says "I just lied and I think it was a good one."
"Miles, baby, you're a terrible liar." She chuckled as he too sat up.
A shocked look crossed his face and she kissed him before he could open his mouth to lie again. She wrapped a hand around the back of his neck to keep him close. Miles remained still for a moment before pressing himself closer.
The pair shared the slow kiss before laying back with her head on his chest and her leg once more thrown over his. Miles moved silently to play a movie, but his hand stilled just before pressing play.
"Can I ask you a question?" He spoke softly. The tone of his voice caused her eyes to snap open yet she remained glued in place.
