[•Dipper's POV•]
Wendy called and said that we'll be having our hangout today, she also mentioned bringing Soos and Mabel along since the shack is going through construction right now.The three of us waited in the forest for Wendy. I was looking through the journal with a black light, I just accidently discovered it recently when I was playing with my fire balls in my dark room, while also reading the journal.
"Hey dudes." Wendy greeted as she walked over to us.
"Hey Wendy!" Mabel greeted, Soos waved.
"Hey." I spout, still looking at my book with the black light.
"Seriously dude. We're here to hang out, not to do nerdy stuff." Wendy argued as she tried to get the journal away from me. Keyword: tried.
I glared at her and she backed away with her hands up in defeat. When she looked at the journal she noticed something.
"Here's the plan Dips. We're gonna do one of your mystery adventures, the one you and Mabel would do." Wendy informed. I raised a brow at her, questioning why she wanted to go on a mystery adventure.
"Look dude, I'm so stoked about this. I've been wanting to go adventuring with you guys. Sure beats picking up after my dad at home." She reasoned, I nodded and showed them the journal.
"Thirty years ago the author vanished without a trace. But according to this new clue, we may have found his secret hiding place. We find that author, we learn the answers to everything. We just need to figure out a way to get down there." I informed while turning on my portable black light and pointing it on a specific page.
There, it shows stairs going down a tree.
"And just now, I noticed that that branch over there looks like a lever. Wendy, can you use your lumberjack skills to pull it down." I requested, she nodded and removed her belt and climbed up the tree while we watch her.
The tree started shaking where Wendy was at.
"Wendy! Get down from there!" I exclaimed. She immediately jumped down and landed on her feet in a crouching position.
At the bottom, the ground and tree sank down. They stand around it as a staircase to the middle of the tree appears, and subsequently a door inside the tree opens.
"Alright guys, this is it. Remember, whatever happens down there, we tell no one." I said.
Mabel gave me a thumbs up, Soos turns his hat backwards, while Wendy zipped her lips.
I went down first with the others following behind.
"Woah!" Mabel was amazed.
"Dude..." Soos muttered in amazement.
"This is so cool." Wendy uttered.
"It's like a fallout shelter or something. It must've belonged to the author." I thought aloud.
Wendy took out a poster from the shelter and dusted it off.
"This is going over my bed." She said.
"This is incredible. It's like he was preparing for a disaster. But what kinda disaster would need supplies for over sixty years?" I fathomed as I looked at the boxes, the highest being 2070.
"Oh my gosh! A Smez Despenser! I remember these things. What's that, yes I will have some of your old-timey face food. Ew, dusty!" Soos complained as he ate one, but ate another one not long after.
Hah, you always seem to amuse me Soos.
I could feel a dangerous aura surrounding the shelter, I searched around the area until I hit a can. I looked down and picked it up.
