'Posy Alder.'

I heard my name called, and I went into a large training room. On a balcony at one side of the room, was the Gamemakers. They sat on lavish pink sofas and chairs, dining on wine and fresh pastries. Once I entered the room, the loud chatter in the room descended to quiet whispers.

I strode across the room, to where a belt of knives sat on a shelf. Grabbing the smooth blade of one knife, I crossed over to where the human shaped targets were and closed my eyes. Deep breath in. Even without looking, I could feel the Gamemakers eyes on me. Raising the knife to my head, I let out my breath and threw.

It landed right in the centre mark. Smiling I turned to the Gamemakers, where they began to clap softly. I then threw some more knives for the fun of it. One more landed perfectly but the others were slightly off. Nevertheless, they dismissed me and I strode out of the room proudly.

Back on the top floor, Hazelle was questioning me all about my assessment. I told her that I threw the knives pretty well and I think the Gamemakers were pleased, but she kept pestering me for more and more details. Finally, Ash came through the door and we all sat around to hear about his.

'Well, I threw the spear well, I think.' He said, taking a sip from a glass he had been handed. 'They certainly seemed impressed. The Gamemakers, I mean.'

And then he was silenced, for the TV in front blurted out the familiar anthem of Panem, and Felix Falconbolt.

'Welcome everybody. Today I am going to announce the scores from the Training assessments that our tribute just completed. So everybody listen up.'

He shuffled a piece of paper in front of him and cleared his throat.

'From District 1, Azora, 9 and Cash, 10. From District 2, Alexis, 10 and Orion, 10.' And so he went on like that for a while, announcing most scores as 6 or 7, apart form the Careers, of course who were mainly scoring a 10. On boy from 6 though, Aero, scored a 9, which was a surprise. After announcing the tributes from District 11, he looked back down at his paper, and said,

'From District 12, Posy with a score of 8 and Ash with a score of 9.'

'Well done Posy.' said Ash.

'Well done to you too.' I replied.

'Congratulations both of you.' announced Hazelle. Checking her watch, she cried out. 'We must have dinner and then you must prepare for your interviews with Felix Falconbolt.'

A soft white dress with soft yellow flowers. Small, delicate ruffles on the sleeves. An elegant and intricately designed necklace with matching earrings. And dark brown hair softly curled and placed in a beautifully designed bun. I looked nothing like myself. And yet for once, I felt more beautiful than I had ever done before.

Patting silver glitter on my eyes and cheeks, Tril gasped. 'You look absolutely gorgeous.'

'Just one more thing.' added Cove appearing beside Tril. he placed a pair of shoes on the floor and I slipped them on my feet. 'Now you look perfect.'

He pulled me in for a hug, before Hazelle and Billy ran in, with Ash to far behind.

'You're up next Posy.' Exclaimed Hazelle.

'Make sure they like you.' Added Billy, kissing my hand.

'Good luck.' Said Ash, smiling. We hadn't told anyone about our alliance, so we had to stay neutral to each other when around others.
