Hoseok came through the kitchen doorway to see Namjoon standing by the counter. He was staring at something on his phone with furrowed brows. His intense gaze then switched to Hoseok as the older male approached him.
"Namjoon, what was that about earlier?" Hoseok asked.
Namjoon shook his head, "It was nothing, don't worry about it."
Hoseok gave him an unconvinced look and crossed his arms, "I seriously doubt that it's nothing. You do know that you can trust us with anything, right? We're all here for you."
Namjoon knew he was right and it hurt him that he wasn't telling them anything. He just felt that if he told them what he was actually worried and upset about, things would just get worse. Above everything though, he was most worried about Daechul. If she found out what he had been keeping from her, would she still love him? Would she leave him? Would he lose the last family he had?
He wasn't sure, so that's why he couldn't let the secret out.
Hoseok could practically see the gears turning in Namjoon's head. The male looked troubled about something so he placed a hand on his shoulder. He sighed and waited for Namjoon to meet his gaze.
"You don't have to tell all of us if that's what you're worried about," he said, "You don't even have to tell me. Just at least tell one of the other members or Daechul. If there's something bothering you, it's best to share it with someone to receive advice or help for the situation. You don't always have to do everything alone, you have us, you know."
Namjoon knew he was right. Surely telling just one member wouldn't be bad, would it? He trusted all of them, but something told him that maybe telling Hoseok would be the best idea. He was also pretty close to Daechul and could advise him what to do.
He sighed and nodded, "Okay, you're right. I'm sorry I didn't tell you this before, but please don't tell the others."
With that, he started telling Hoseok everything. He hadn't planned on saying everything but it soon spilled out of his mouth anyway. He felt relief and as if a large burden had been taken off of him. Once he finished, he leaned back on the kitchen counter and waited for the other male's response.
Hoseok finally gathered his thoughts and cleared his throat, "Well that's certainly not what I had been expecting you to say, but I now understand why you haven't been telling Daechul what was wrong. You're clearly just scared of losing her, however, this is huge to keep from your own family. Whether blood-related or not, you should always be honest with them."
He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, continuing, "I'm not sure what you should do, if I'm honest. But if you don't tell her, she's eventually going to find out on her own. Heck, she'll probably end up finding out that the document from several months ago about the arranged marriage thing was of our doing and not her mother's. I guess it worked though, our plan for them to be back together."
He chuckled a little and shook his head. His expression changed to a more serious one though, "If she finds out herself about what you've been hiding though, she'll probably be more upset. If I were you, I would explain first why I didn't tell her sooner. In your case, it would be because of the fear of losing her- the only family you have left. There's nothing wrong with that and I'm sure she would understand."
Namjoon listened intently and nodded every little while to show that he was paying attention. When Hoseok was done, he gave a small smile, "Thanks. I actually feel much better after talking to you about this. I'll try and tell her, though, I'm still scared of what might happen, I trust you."

Daechul and Taehyung stepped into the house and closed the door behind them. It seemed quiet so they both figured some of the members had already gone to sleep. She debated whether she would try to talk to Namjoon tonight or not but in the end, she decided she would get some sleep. She could talk to him tomorrow.
She and Taehyung headed upstairs to go to bed but they both stopped at the sound of footsteps. Turning, she saw Namjoon approaching them. He gave her an awkward and apologetic smile.
"Can I talk to you?" he asked.
She nodded, looking over to Taehyung. He gave her a slight smile and nod before continuing his way upstairs. After he had totally disappeared, she followed her older brother to the living room. He patted the seat next to him and she sat down.
"You want to talk?" she asked.
Namjoon nodded, "Yeah... I want to apologize about earlier and well...the past couple of months. I know I've been quite the jerk to you and the others and I'm sorry."
Daechul smiled and patted his shoulder, "It's fine. I understand that you must be stressed with all of the gang stuff going on right now."
Namjoon shifted a little nervously. He wasn't sure how to tell her what he wanted to. He was still scared of how she would react but Hoseok had said it would be better if he did tell her. He just couldn't stop imagining how he had reacted when he'd found out.
His father told him, and his mother later confirmed it. He had gone so far as to avoid his sister for a full week in fear of letting the secret slip and because he didn't know how to act around her. He had been an idiot for sure. A jerk brother.
He had been upset but had learned to accept the truth. You can't change factual truth no matter how hard you try. That's why he was so protective of her and tried to keep her hidden from the world.
This was it, he was going to tell her. He had already made up his mind and there was no going back now. He opened his mouth to speak but was cut short by a ringing phone.
Daechul reached for her phone and answered the call, "Hello?"
Namjoon watched as there was silence and then her eyes grew wide. She looked up at him and their eyes met for a moment before she spoke again.
"Yes, yes I understand. I'll be right over," she said, hanging up. She wore a shocked but grim expression, "I-I have to go."
Her brother could hear the worry in her voice. He got up and followed her in concern as she headed to the door.
"What is it?" he asked.
She turned, "It's S-Seonghwa. He's been shot," her voice cracked.
