As Hajime shuffled the cards with a determined gleam in his eyes, he wondered how it had reached this point. Nagito turned to glare at him with a slight smirk of competitiveness resting on his face, and Hajime glared right back, continuing to ponder the question. He had no idea how it had gotten to this.

No. No, he did.

"Hey, Nagito, let's play a game!"

"Hm? You want to play a game with trash like me? How hopeful!" Nagito glanced over. "What sort of game?"

"Good question..." Hajime put his hand on his chin in thought. "Maybe... Monopoly?"

Nagito laughed. "Hajime that game takes a long time to play... and besides..." He smirked slightly. "With my luck I wouldn't be able to lose."

Hajime froze, and his eyes flashed. "What."

Nagito smiled and leaned forward on the chair he was sitting on. "With my luck... I. Wouldn't. Lose. I could beat you easy~"

Hajime growled. "It takes SKILL to win games, not luck."

Nagito laughed, his tone slightly sharp as the edge of competitiveness takes hold of them both. "Actually, it takes luck."

"Skill."

"Luck."

"Skill!"

Nagito was starting to get annoyed. "It takes LUCK to win Monopoly. LUCK to not land on the bad spaces, LUCK to land on the good spaces, LUCK to have others land on your expensive spaces, LUCK to get the correct cards from Chance and Community Chest spaces - LUCK."

"..." For a moment Hajime was silent, and Nagito thought he had won the argument. "Skill."

"Oh come on, Hajime!" Nagito flung his hands into the air in an exasperated manner. "It's so obvious that it's luck based. And besides I have luck AND skill! AHAHAHAHA!" He laughed, and Hajime refrained from flinching back, wanting to stay as stubborn and determined as possible. He would make Nagito regret his words.

"WOW." Hajime responded, scoffing slightly. "If anyone has skill here, it's me. I've been playing board games for years!"

"Yeah you and every other 5-year-old."

"WELL I HAVE ALL THE SKILL, SO I'D WIN."

"I HAVE ALL THE LUCK AND I HAVE SKILL, SO I'D WIN ANY GAME."

"YOU WANNA BET?"

"SURE."

"UNO."

Nagito paused. "UNO? I thought we were playing Monopoly-"

"ARE YOU SCARED?!"

"... ahaha..." Nagito sighed and let his head fall forwards, sighing slightly and allowing the atmosphere to grow tense at his brief silence, before lifting his head back up, smirking with a slight edged glare at Hajime. "Of course not. UNO it is."

As Hajime continued to shuffle, their competitive argument continued.

"I'm going to beat you at this game so easy that you'll be too scared to even consider playing Monopoly with me!" Nagito laughed scornfully. "You're going to regret ever doubting my Ultimate Luck!"

"You only say that because you're going to cheat and pretend it's because of your luck." Hajime replied stubbornly, shuffling the cards faster.

"Getting the right cards due to luck is NOT cheating!"
