12."I had a great time"

We drove around for a good 10 minutes before he started to slow down. By the looks of it we were somewhere up hill. 

A few minutes later he brought the car to a stop. At this point I was sure that we were on the top of the hill.

He got out of the car so I did the same. Once we got out I realized that this is some secluded park that no one ever uses. There were swings and a little slide for a five year old and a sand box everything.

"Why are we here?" I ask him walking across the park my feet making a small crunching sound as they crumple the dry leaves in my path.

"Why are we not here? Where has your child like wonder gone?" Niall asks me and he takes of running in circles.

I cant help but laugh.

"Yeah I have mine but I dont put in use late at night" I tell him. 

He sticks is tongue out at me "Well I never got to do this crap when I was a kid so I might as well do it now" He tells me with a shrug. 

That made me wonder what happened to him as a kid? I was curious to know what happened but I didnt ask. I know there was some reason as to why he has kept it away from most people and I respected that so I didn't pry on it more. 

He started to climb the little slide that was clearly for 5 year old children. 

"I dont think you should climb that" I tell him because it seemed really old and rusted I dont think it would take his weight. Not to mention that his feet would already reach the ground if he got on the slide so there was no point in getting on it.   

"What why?" He asks me slight pout taking over his features. 

There was something about him right now at this moment. He seemed different all that jerk, stuck up egoistic CEO was gone and now he seemed like a normal 24 year old. There was so many layers to him and that alone made me curious about him... 

"Well I think you should be  under 3 feet tall to get on that" I tell him. 

He yet again stuck his tongue out at me and got on the slide nevertheless of what I said. Just like I predicted his legs touched the ground even though he was sitting on the slide. The second he reached the ground he jumped up from the slide and started to shake his shirt and screamed "There was some stupid bug on me!!" 

I started to laugh at his plight. He rolls his eyes at me "Good to know my suffering serves as amusement to you" He says.

"In my defence you laughed when I was scared because you refused to drive within the speed limit like a normal person and also the fact that there are probably many people in the world that would find your suffering amusing" I say letting out a little chuckle.

He now full on pouts but when he sees the swings he forgets about this whole thing. It was like he was a child at heart but he those walls... being a a jerk was his defence mechanism. Somehow I knew that this Niall wasn't the Niall that everyone got to see it was rare. But I like this Niall he seemed more normal in this case I enjoyed this Niall's company. 

"Now am I allowed to sit on the swing or is there a height requirement for this one as well?" He asks me full on sass in his voice. 

"Yes there is you have to be 6 feet tall for it. So sorry you didn't make the cut" I tell him walking towards the swings and sitting on one of them.

"And you get to sit on them?" He ask me.

"Yes I do because I make the rules and I get to break them" I tell him. 

"Yeah and I am going to listen to you" He tells me and takes a seat in the swing next to mine. 

We end up talking about random things while we swing he told me the kind of music he was into which was mainly acoustic. He really liked Clinton Kane, Landon Kane and Jacob Lee I have heard a few songs by them but not that many but he seemed to really like them. I told him my favorite artists Kodaline goes on the very top then there is Jake Scott and there are many more artists that I like. 

Later we ended up walking around the park with him telling me about something Sean did the more he tells me about Sean the more I think Sean should never meet Louis because only havoc can be caused out of that.

We ended up reaching the very top of the hill. We could see the whole city from up here. The scene that we saw was like the one of those typical New York at night scene just that we were looking down on most of the city. It was amazing. Vehicles going on the crowded roads all the buildings were light up. Every window showed a different life of a different person. 

Standing over here felt like you were on the top of the world. Like I owned everything like I was the most powerful person. 

"This is what it must be like to be you" I say without really processing my thoughts. 

"Huh?" He questioned.

"You know being the self made man. Most influential person biggest business man almost owns the USA, having the kind of power that people only dream off you can have anything you want. It kind of corelates to this. Standing here like standing on the top of the world" I say. 

He looked at me for moment like he was thinking about his next words. Why does he always have to think about what he says? It was like he had this internal filter but god only knows what goes on in his head.

"Chase the crazy right out of my head, I'm out on the edge and I'm screaming my name like a fool at the top of my lungs." He said. Wait was he quoting another song?

"Why do you do that?" I ask him curiously taking a seat on the grassy ground. 

"Do what?" He queried taking a seat by my side on the ground.

"The quoting songs" I answered crossing my legs sitting on the ground Indian style. 

Yet again that look like he was filtering out what he wanted to say and then he said "When I was younger I wasnt very good with my... words. I always seemed to remember lyrics so I said them to say what was going in my head"

I nodded leaving the topic as it was because I could sense the discomfort in Niall when he spoke about things about his personal life. 

We ended up sitting there for quiet sometime looking at everything around us I really wish I had my camera with me right now. Everything seemed so beautiful in the dark.

"Come on let us go, I'll drop you off home" Niall announced. 

I nodded.  

We walked back the path we came along until we reached the car. We got into the car and started to drive back. This time thankfully he drove like a normal person within the speed limit. 

We pulled up in front of my crappy looking apartment after seeing Niall's house my house looked like dump.

I got out of the car no words were exchanged between the two of us.  I was almost at the main gate when I heard Niall call out from the car. 

"I had a great time" 

I felt a little heat rush up to my cheeks for unknown reasons.

"I had great time as well" I say this time I actually meant it. I had a nice time. 

"You know a thank you wont hurt you Horan" I point out to him. 

"It would do considerable damage to my reputation" He says back grinning. 

I roll my eyes at him.  

"Bye Cienna" He tells me. I reply the same before I turn to open the gate of my apartment. 

I turn around to see he had already left.
