Chapter 18 🍂:: The first time I go out with her alone

As Miyoung and Jun leave the house. Miyoung brings up his childhood to him. "When you were born, your Mom always played that song to you when you were to go to sleep." Miyoung tells him. "It was like your lullaby." Jun looks up at her as they walk.

"Whenever she played that, you'll always be next to her lying on her shoulder. So calmly." Miyoung looks back at Jun. "Will Mom let me play. I feel as if it's gonna come back again." Jun asks her. "Should I even be playing-" "If in doubt just play it." Miyoung cuts off Jun's sentence.

"Play it and listen to what your Mom would say." Miyoung gives Jun advice. "Don't think too much. Play with all your heart and motivate yourself. Maybe something will change." They both look at each other. "Perhaps the reason you can't hear the sound anymore is a gift..." Miyoung says.

"Huh?" Jun asks not hearing what she said. "It's best if I go now. See you!" Miyoung waves Jun goodbye. "Oh yeah. Play it like you did last time. Which girl was it for again? Bets on the brown one." She says as she walks off. Jun turns around surprised. "Stop teasing meeee." Jun shouts at her.

Later that evening

Jun and Yerin were back in the school practicing. "She said not hearing the sound can be a gift." Jun wonders to himself. "What can she mean by that." Jun continues to look at the piano keys. He turns around to Yerin who is sleeping calmly sitting against the wall.

"Ah, you're asleep." Jun takes off his jacket, walks over to Yerin and places it on her. He walks back and sits on the piano. Glancing at her one more time before playing again.

An hour later Jun and Yerin exit the school. "I'm so excited for the Gala concert. If only it were to come soon." She tells Jun. "We still have lots of time to practice." He says. "I'll be taking the spotlight, just leave it to me." Yerin jokes and both of them laugh.

"Hey I thought I'll be sharing it with you." Jun playfully hits Yerin's arm. Yerin stops him. "Look up!" She points at the night sky. "It's beautiful..." Jun looks up. There was a brief moment of silence. "Thank you..." Jun thanks Yerin as she looks at him confused. Jun laughs it off and so does she. They both walk off and Yerin starts singing.

"Twinkle twinkle little star." Jun then joins in with her as both of them walk back home. "How I wonder what you are." "Up above the world so high." "Like a diamond in the sky." "Twinkle twinkle little star. How I wonder what you are."
