Months passed and it was the day of the concert. Yerin is nowhere to be seen. "Please she'll come. If you can please change the lineup for us." Miyoung begs the judge as Jun paces behind her anxiously. "I'm afraid I can't do so. To let the final performance to be performed by a latecomer. Plus I was strongly against having her play today." The judge responds.
"She'll come. As long as you change the lineup she won't be late." Miyoung persuades the judge. "You'll be playing when you are playing it. Take it or leave it." The judge walks off into the hall. "Where could she be?" Jun asks himself anxious. In the hall Wonwoo, Sinb and Umji are sitting together. Waiting for Yerin and Jun to appear onstage.
In the dressing room. He hears someone ask. "Is Jung Yerin here?" Miyoung quickly responds "Yes." Before finishing her sentence the guy cuts her off. "Then please go to the stage wing." And he walks off. Jun stands up "She isn't here yet." Miyoung tries to stop Jun. "The spotlight today belongs to Yerin, I have no choice but to let the people out there know of her." Jun talks back to her and turns around.
"How are you going to play?" Miyoung asks him. "Someone once told me the gala concert is all about standing out from the rest." Jun looks up to her and smiles.
"Next performer is Jung Yerin." When all of them heard Yerin's name on the speaker. They quickly turned all their focus onto the stage. Only to see Jun walk onstage...alone. As he sits on the piano and places his fingers on the keys and plays the first note.
"Jun is playing alone in a violin gala concert?" One of the judges ask confused. "What does he think he is doing. He is only the accompanist nothing more." The other judge talks to him. "I'll take the spotlight of the gala concert." Jun tells himself. He continues to play with strength, then shortly after the sound of the keys fade away again.
"Huh?" Jun later remembers. "Mom always played this song more mellow." As he does the sound of the piano quickly comes back into his mind. "There we go. The piece is supposed to play like this." As Jun continues to play. Another flashback appears in his mind.
Jun was lying on the couch with his eyes closed. As his Mom was playing the same song on the piano.
"I should remember it. Imagine it." Jun tells himself. Sinb from the audience gives him an encouraging look from afar.
"Jun, play this piece more gently. As if you are stroking the head of a baby." His Mom tells him.
Jun remembers what his aunt told him a few months back. "Perhaps the reason you can't hear the sound might be a gift."
