Hello Bookkeeper, did you know that some people call you the reaper?

Perhaps they might be right, some people who read the books I give them don't even last the night.

Do you know which books get them hooked?

Often times I do not, it's the readers fault

How can it be their fault if you are the one to give it to them?

They get to attached, when you get attached you get broken

But don't the books teach us that being broken can only make us stronger?

It can, but only the strong survive

All who fight the darkness are strong, no matter who comes out

Maybe, maybe not

I do not understand

Tell me this my friend, why did those who died to get the book that they got?

Because it seemed interesting to them, it was a sense of a new home

They chose that book knowing that they would get attached, yes?

Why, yes I guess so

Why would they choose that book knowing they could get attached, knowing the potential heartbreak from when the book would end? Why would they risk their life?

You are saying that they knew the risks?

Everyone who reads knows the risk of heartbreak

You said only some survive, why?

Those who have been broken too many times are the ones that survive

Why? If they had been broken so many times why wouldn't they just give in?

Because that's not the point of the read

So why do they read?

They read to escape the heartbreak that they had from the last book

But doesn't that only lead to more heartbreak when the book ends?

Yes, but that's still now the point. They are used to the pain, so much that when it's gone it hurts more than the heartbreak.

So they read to fill the space that would cause them more pain than if they didn't?

Exactly. Tell me this my friend, why do you read? Why have you survived the books that you have chosen?

Because I have gotten used to it...I'm used to the pain.

That my friend is why I'm called the reaper because I take away the lives of those who have given into the heartbreak. I take the lives of those who have lived thousands. I'm the reaper because every time you pick up another book you take that chance of giving in to the pain, it's a chance of death. And only you know the outcome.

Hey guys! So this isn't really like anything I have written before. But I did love writing it. So I hope you liked it! Love you guys! Keep reading!!
