Kamilah, Evelyn and Mara were all sitting on the couch. Some rom-com was playing on the t.v, but nobody paid any attention to it. Mara threw her head back on the couch, "This is boring, is there anything else we can do?" Evelyn laughed at the girl's antics. Kamilah was the one to answer, "Well, what do you want to do?" Mara shrugged, "Anything but this." Kamilah rolled her eyes, slumping back onto the couch. Evelyn pulled out her phone, scrolling through social media. Mara just went back to watching the movie.

Evelyn sat up for a minute, eyes still fixated on her phone. "Hey Mara, have you ever been to a party?" Mara thought for a minute, "League parties." Kamilah snorted at her blunt answer. Evelyn just rolled her eyes, "I mean a high school party." Mara shook her head. Evelyn sat up, "Then we are going to one tonight!" Mara shook her head, "I don't want to be around a bunch of horny teens." Mara clicked her tongue, which got her a jab in the side from Kamilah. Evelyn stood up, pulling on Mara's arm. "Please, Mara! It would be so fun," Evelyn pleaded.

Mara just stared at the girl.

Kamilah was the one who stopped the staring war. "We will bring everyone, and I'm sure Layla and Lucy will come. The guys would come too," Kamilah said. Mara huffed, "Please, Damian would ever go to a high school party." Evelyn laughed at Mara. "Damian follows Kamilah around like a lost puppy. If she goes, he will go," the blonde said. Mara sighed, a clear sign of defeat. "Fine, I'll go, but I won't have fun." Evelyn smiled, "Great, now let's go get ready!" Kamilah stood up, "wait, what party are we going to?"

Evelyn looked at her phone, "Steve Miller's party, it's two blocks down so we can walk." Kamilah nodded, watching the others run up the stairs. She sat in the quiet bliss for a moment before going to tell the others. She got up, stretching her back a little. She stopped in Nolan's room first. He and Lucy were sitting on the bed. "Hey loser, we are all going to a party tonight so get ready," Kamilah said, throwing a shirt that was on the floor at Nolan.

Nolan caught the shirt, "Whose party?" Kamilah shrugged, "Some Steve Miller guy Evelyn knows, the party starts at ten, so hurry up." Lucy just smiled, "Finally, something fun to do." Nolan probably had an offended look on his face, but Kamilah was out the door before she could check. Kamilah went to Sam's room next. When she opened the door, she was bombarded by loud music. She put her hands over her ears. Luckily the music stopped a minute after.

"Fuck man, does your music have to be any louder," Kamilah said. Sam just gave her the finger, which she returned right back. "Get ready. We are going to a party at ten," Kamilah said. Sam just nodded, too busy on his phone to answer. Kamilah clapped her hands together to try and get his attention. Sam winced at the noise, "okay, okay!" Kamilah smiled, "good, and invite Layla." With that, she left the room and went back to her room.

Damian was lying in bed, watching some movie on his phone. She walked up to him, gently hitting his side. "We are going to a party, and we are leaving at ten." Damian rolled over, looking at Kamilah. "Are you going?" Kamilah rolled her eyes, "yes, you idiot, now get ready." Damian didn't look impressed but got up anyway. He walked over to their dresser, trying to find a decent outfit.

Damian could hear all of the raucous of others getting ready through the thin wall. He finally picked out a long sleeve shirt and some baggy pants. Kamilah had some loose pants on and a baggy band t-shirt. She was sitting by the mirror, putting on some makeup. Damian was pulled out of his thoughts by the sound of a window opening. There was some shuffling outside before a girl climbed through the window.

It was Layla, hair pulled back in a messy bun and pyjama's on. "Ah, sorry to barge in," Layla said, dusting off her clothing. Kamilah rolled her eyes, putting some blush on her cheeks. "Layla, we have a front door for a reason," Kamilah said. "Yes, but that's so far away," Layla added. The girl left the room as quickly as she came. Now, it was just Damian and Kamilah.

Kamilah stood up, fixing her hair in the mirror. "You ready to go," she asked Damian. The boy nodded, fidgeting with some rings on his finger. There was a small pang in his chest when he touched the ring his mother had given him. He quickly put his hands down, focusing on his girlfriend. She smiled, "let's go see if the others are ready."
