Outside the dojo, Miguel and I were on each side of Johnny, all of us with drinks in hand. Johnny with a Coors beer, Miguel with a Coca-Cola and I have a sprite. "It was the summer of '82. Rocky III had just come out. My buddy Dutch was a huge Mr. T fan, so we went to the local theater to check it out. Sitting in front of us was the group this group of cute chicks, eating popcorn." Johnny starts as he talks with his hands, Miguel takes a sip of soda while I played with the tab on my can. "Dutch started throwing milk duds at 'em." Johnny takes a sip of his beer. "Ew, I'm not a fan of those." I say about the milk duds. "Wh-what? Why would he do that?" Miguel ask, laughing at both Johnny and I's words.

"Because it's an alpha move, man. Babes love when you treat them like crap." Johnny responds to Miguel's question. "As much as I'd love to disagree, I can't. Lots of girls in my old school fell for that shit." I say with a shrug. "Anyway, eventually the girls got so pissed off, one of 'em stood up and started yelling at us." Johnny continues with his story. "As they should." I say with the laugh. "That's when I saw her for the first time." Johnny said with a small smile. "Awe, Who?" I ask. "Saw who?" Miguel asks. "Ali. She dumped popcorn all over Dutch. Got butter all over him." Johnny explains, as we all laughed. "I could tell right away, man, this chick was a firecracker. Just like our girl, Aviva." Johnny says while looking over at me causing me to smile.

"So, did you ask her out?" Miguel asks him, intrigued in the story. "Yeah, I hit on her a few times till she gave me a chance. We went to Golf 'N' Stuff for our first date." Johnny says, going into depth about Ali. "I've never been golfing." I comment feeling as if I might be missing out. "Really?" They ask, I nod before I gesture for Johnny to continue his story. "Kissed on the Ferris wheel. We were madly in love. Dated for two years. For Valentine's Day, instead of rings, I gave her this pink jelly bracelet." Johnny reminisces as I smile at him being happy. "She gave me this." He said as he pulled out a black karate head-tie. "So, then what happened?" Miguel asks him while staring at his soda.

"Summer before my senior year, we got into a fight. I figured we'd work things out eventually." Johnny explains their downfall, causing my smile to fade and Miguel to look down slightly. "But then Daniel LaRusso came to town." He began talking about his vendetta, causing me to internally cringe. "Next thing I know, he's hitting on her. I see the two of them flirting with each other." Johnny says. "Well, if he's new then isn't it possible he didn't know about you two..." I trail off as Johnny shakes his head. "What did you do?" Miguel questions, staring at him. "Well, I walked over to have a civil conversation with Ali. But LaRusso kept butting in." He then looks at me. "I told him to get lost, mind your own business. Out of nowhere, the guy sucker punches me." My eyes go wide, never thinking Mr. LaRusso would've done something so aggressive.

"What an asshole." Miguel comments. "I know, man." Johnny responds. "He really just punched you?" I ask causing Johnny to nod his head. "I did what any dude would do. I defended myself. You know, I figured that was that. But LaRusso wouldn't leave it alone. At the Halloween dance, I was sitting there minding my own business, he douses me with a water hose." Johnny tells another story from his teen years causing Miguel to make an annoyed face while I was still confused and in shock. "I hadn't seen the guy in months, freaking turns a water hose on my head. So I chase him down, try to put things to end to things that night, right? Turns out the guys got a karate master of his own." Mr. Miyagi I thought, small smile on my face at the mention of him. Reminiscing on stories Mr. LaRusso had told me and Robby.

"Guy comes out of nowhere, jumps us, assaults me and my friends. I think my buddy Tommy got brain damage because of that fight." My smile then faded as Johnny explains with a dry chuckle. I'm sure Miyagi was just defending Daniel, Miyagi was an honorable man, I tell myself. "Oh my God." Miguel and I both say it same time, my tone more surprised and confused while his was in a more shocked and annoyed tone. "Eventually, we decided to work things out at the all Valley tournament. So we both made it to the finals. It was two to two..." He stops and takes a sip of his beer, leaving us on the edge of our seats. "But what... what happen? Who won?" Miguel says eyebrows crunch with curiosity and confusion. "Daniel did... didn't he?" I ask him, fairly certain I was right since Daniel uses karate as his main catch-phrase.

"Yeah... LaRusso won, I lost. But what's the worst... is I lost Ali." He confesses, causing me to frown, not only did he get probably embarrassed but he lost to the guy who stole the love of his life. "Yeah." Miguel said with a small nod. "All right, the reason I'm telling you two goons about this, is because you got a watch out for the LaRusso's." Johnny says causing both of us to look up. There was no way could I tell him where I work now. He would hate me and Miguel probably would too for not telling him. We all stood up and went back in the dojo. Miguel and I cleaned while Johnny went to his office. After we finished, I began to walk home as Johnny and Miguel took Johnny's car to their apartments.

I slowly walked into my house not bothering to be quiet since I was going to get yelled at anyways. I instantly came face-to-face with my mother and father. They didn't hesitate in the slightest, my mom grabbing my arm while my dad starts yelling. "And where the hell do you think you have been for the past two days?" He asked me. "I was at a friends." I say, not lying but not saying who exactly where. "So you think you can defy your mother's rules and get away with it? Huh!? And what friend was this?" My dad continues to interrogate me as my mom shoves me onto the couch. "He's nobody!" I yelled back not taking their crap, thinking about the motto 'Strike first' like Sensei had told us.

"So this friend is he!? What, did he promise to make life better long as you did something for him!?" My mom torments me, dancing around the word slut. "It's not like that! And you don't even know him!" I yelled back at her, defending Johnny, causing my dad to grab my hair and pull my head back so I was looking up at him. "I will not, NOT, allow you to speak like that in my house. Thalia, you talk to her. I'm going to the store. She's too much." He said as he dropped my hair before leaving me. I got up as he left, knowing that the biggest threat was gone. My mom went to grab my face before I moved my head away, resulting in her grabbing my arms and shoving me back onto the couch, slapping the right side of my face and grabbing my cheeks like she had done before.

"Who the fuck do you think you're talking to? You just can't seem to listen! If you wanna act like a dirty whore so be it!" She yells at me before letting go of my face the name chilling me to the bone like ice-cold water. "Get out." She says to me through gritted teeth causing me to stand up confused. "What? What do you mean get out?" I asked still confused as to what she wanted from me. First she wants to know where I have been but now she wants me to leave. "I told you to get out. Sluts aren't welcome here. Especially since you can't listen to simple rules." She says to me causing me to pause my breathing, realizing what she meant. "You have five minutes to get your shit and leave. You're still here when your father gets home, he can deal with you." She says before turning and walking to her room.

After a few seconds of not moving a muscle, still in shock, I quickly walk to my room and grab my backpack. I began shoving in essentials like my toothbrush, deodorant, toothpaste, hairbrush and bathroom stuff. I then grabbed my work clothes, gi, regular clothes I could wear to school, some shoes and working out clothes, for when we had non-official sessions, into a duffel bag. I then put on my backpack and grabbed my duffel before making my way out of my parents house. I walked down the street, going to ask Johnny if I could crash there again but his lights were off. I sighed, not wanting to wake him up and not wanting to ask Miguel. This left me with two options.

One, sleep on the streets, which wasn't a real option to take. Or two, ask Mr. LaRusso for help as he told me I should many times. I chose number two and begin walking to his house. As I walked, I began to really process what happened. All the yelling, me attempting to stand up for myself and Johnny, both of my parents putting hands on me, my mom calling me names and then being kicked out of 'their' house. I walked up the driveway tears in my eyes but not falling, before going to the front door. I looked through the windows seeing the lights were on, indicating  that someone was up. I knocked on door, my anxiety finally making itself known.

I knew that since it was late, ringing the doorbell would wake up the whole house. For a few second I considered ditching option two and going with option one, not wanting to bother anyone with my problems. I knew that I wasn't bothering anyone but I was mostly embarrassed that this had happened. Mr. LaRusso opened the door, shocked to see me and confused. "Aviva?" He questions. "I'm sorry, Mr. LaRusso. I know it's late but I had nowhere else to go." I pleaded with him, silently hating myself for the whole situation. "Come in, come in." He quickly said, grabbing my duffel bag as I walked in, him closing the door behind me.
