I run into Mrs. LaRusso's office after waking up late. "I'm here. On time." I pause as I pant between sentences. "Where is Robby and Mr. LaRusso?" I ask putting my hands on my knees as I look at her. "Back room and please, don't tire yourself out trying to get here on time. You're 10 minutes early. Again." She says to me, trying to be helpful but I like to think that if I'm not early then I'm late. "Okay thanks." I respond as I stand up straight and leave her office. I walk into the back and see our signature bonsai trees, given out with every car, along with Robby and Mr. LaRusso.
"He was a pretty special dude. He taught me a lot." Daniel said as he inspected the tree in his hands before putting it down. "And what you gotta do is close your eyes, get everything out of your head." He continues as he grabs a small pair of scissors from his jacket pocket. "The only thing you can see is the tree." He informs Robby, as neither of them notice my entrance. I then walk over as Robby closes his eyes, doing as he was just informed to do. Mr. LaRusso looks over and slides me a pair of scissors with a smile. He then gestures to the tree in front of me, silently urging me to try.
"Think only the tree. Then you visualize what you want the tree to look like," Mr. LaRusso says as he continues to clip another tree. "and you make it happen. That's it." He concludes as he begins to spritz the tree with water. I began clipping the tree, trying to make it look nice as Robby opens his eyes and tries to do the same. "There you go." Mr. LaRusso says to Robby before he then turns to me, causing a smile to appear on his face. "You're a natural, Aviva." He praises me, causing my face to heat out of embarrassment from being called out but a huge smile coming across my face.
Robby sits up straight and breaks out of his trance after hearing my name. "Aviva?" He questions before turning around and finally seeing me. "Oh, hey! When did you get here?" Robby asks me with a smile but also furrowed eyebrows, confused yet happy. "When you were becoming one with nature, Roe." I teased him seeing as he was completely oblivious this whole time. My eyes finish scanning over his face before turning to the tree he had been clipping. "Yours looks really good." I tell him, proud that he caught the hang of it. "Thanks but yours looks way better than mine." He says with a laugh, gesturing to the scissors he had and his tree. "I just got the hang of all this." He continues before I finally turn to Mr. LaRusso.
"So, Mr. LaRusso, this is obviously some kind of metaphor." I say to him awaiting his explanation for this task. "Yeah, the trees are our feelings or something." Robby claims, trying to see if he's figured it out on his own or not. "Well, you are the tree. You guys have strong roots. You know who you are, right?" He asks us as he looks from Robby to me. "So now all you gotta do is visualize what you want your future to look like, and then you make it happen." He explains the lesson to us, it actually making sense unlike some of Johnny's crazy ones. He then stands up straight and grabs the tree, to bring to a customer, before patting Robby's back and smiling at me before leaving.
"Well, let's get to it then." I say with a small laugh as we start clipping. After a few minutes Robby's phone goes off so he picks it up. As I turn to see what was up, my own phone fell to the floor so I put it on the table before picking up the scissors. "Everything okay, Robby?" I ask as I turn back to my tree to see it basically done. "Yeah, just... my mom." He responds to me as he types on his phone before turning it off and putting it down. "Okay, well, keep clipping." I pause as I grab a new tree to trim. "Nature boy." I crack a joke causing myself to chuckle as Robby lets out a small laugh. "Ha, ha. Very funny." He remarks, sarcastically as he tries to stop a smirk from forming on his face.

After I had finished work I changed into leggings and a hoodie before throwing my work clothes in my bag and walking home. As I got back to my street, I stopped when I realized I was supposed to be at Sensei's house 20 minutes ago. I ran over to his door before walking through it, slamming it closed behind me. "Sorry I'm late Sensei, I lost track of time at work." I explained as I dropped my bag and walked into his kitchen where he stood. "All good, Moore. I just need help with an outfit to wear to this dumb meeting." Johnny said to me while huffing at this meeting part of it. "Okay, show me what choices you have." I said as I rubbed my hands together, wanting to help him as much as I could. He pulls out some dark jeans with a band T-shirt, another pair of jeans, these ones black, with a red shirt and a then a brown suit.
"Most definitely the suit." I tell him confident there was no other choice, causing him to roll his eyes at me. "You got a look professional so they take you more seriously. Now, hurry. Go change." I explain to him before slightly shoving him away, making him hustle. He then goes into the bathroom to change. I can hear him swearing and knocking things over before he comes out with his tie loosely done around his neck. "How do I look?" He asks me while flattening out his coat. "Very professional." I say as I notice his loose tie. I walk up to him and begin to tighten it, making sure its not too tight but still looks good. "Um, what ya doing?" He asks me while looking down slightly. "Fixing your tie, obviously." I respond while chuckling. Not like I was trying to kill him.
"Oh. Thanks." He slowly says to me, his body still stiff since I began to fix it. "No problem, Johnny." I say as I finish fixing it, patting his chest as he turns to the mirror to check himself out. While I roll my eyes at him making 'sexy' faces, a knock comes from the door. "Hey, Sensei." Miguel says from behind the door, waiting to enter. "Come in." Johnny tells him. I turn away from Johnny as Miguel walks in. "Hey, Vee. Didn't know you would be here. I texted you though. Did you see it?" Miguel says to me but I hadn't felt my phone buzz at all. I felt my back pocket where it usually was but I didn't feel it so I checked my other pockets.
As I felt around my body and checked my bag, I tried to remember the last time I had my phone. I remember bringing it to work but then it clicked. When it dropped in the back room I had set it on a table, but never picked it back up. "Shit, no. I fucking left my phone at work." I said as I slapped my hand to my forehead, pissed at myself for not being able to see them right before they left. "Good luck guys, I'll meet you guys at the dojo later." I said to them before giving a hug to Miguel and then, before walking out I hesitated and then turned to Johnny and hugged him too. "Bye!" I said as I walk out the door. Once I made it down the street I decided that I'd rather be back quicker than how long walking would take.
I began to do a little jog to LaRusso's Auto Group as I turned off my street. I walk up to the front door before realizing that I don't have a key to get in. I went past the garages so I could go to the back to see if anyone happened to be working late. I went to walk around the side of the building before seeing a keypad lock. Hoping I could guess the code, I walked up to it and began punching in anything I could think of. Starting with the easy ones like '0000' and '1234' before realizing it would probably be something more difficult. "Shit. What could it even be." I said, talking to myself and the door. "Now, now... What are you doing here sweetheart?" Someone from behind me says, making me freeze at the fact that I had never heard this voice before.
