Jisoo's birthday had passed as soon as it came, and both Jennie and Taehyung had returned to their training institutes.

They went to the same one, yet didn't meet for too long as they did different sports.

Jennie did both archery and shooting, mainly archery, but she would do both when necessary.

Taehyung on the other hand was in basketball,
His position a shooting guard to be exact.

The games were nowhere in a similar frame.

They had different diets, floors, areas of the building and obviously different dorm sections.

Yet they still tried to make time for each other being the only ones they could rely on.

Sure they had other friends.

Well, Taehyung did at least, Jennie was a team player at most.

She would have two other girls she considered her friends, but not close ones.

They could hang out, have comfortable conversations on brief overlaying topics, but nothing too personal.

That she was more closed off on.

So she automatically spoke to Taehyung as he had grown up with her, and they'd known each other quite literally all their lives.

He did too, as he found comfort in having someone who was that familiar to him.

They would always eat lunch together, sometimes meet outside at a café, have a coffee and nothing more, due to their diets.

Okay, that's a lie.

They're both foodies.

Maybe once in a while, they'd order a small chocolate muffin at most and eat that, and then use the coffee to mask any smell of the muffin, masking any hints that could reveal they ate it.

They would always make time for each other.

It was a custom for them.

Either way, they had left right after Jisoo's birthday, not having much time to bond with their family nor friends.

It was sad, sure, but it was their reality.

Jisoo had sighed multiple times that whole day they were leaving as if trying to get them convinced to stay longer.

But it clearly didn't work.

In fact, it probably just made the two teens even more guilty, as their training wasn't always in their hands.

They had apologised to her profusely, hoping it would ease her sadness of the both of them having to leave.

But in turn, it didn't fail, sure, as Jisoo had stopped sighing, but she just felt guilty for making it so hard on them.

It had just turned into a moment of guilt, that is until Lisa and Jin, the mood makers had come in and tried to make it better.

It was true that they were quite young as they competed in the Olympic games.

They had competed in the Commonwealth before, and a few other respectful international competitions; both as a part of the Korean basketball community, or the archery and/or shooting community, or the sports community as a whole.

But now it was the Olympics they headed to.

They were part of the national team's, but they were the youngest on their respective Olympic teams.

Yes, they were also part of Korea's Olympic teams, which took the best players from the national one, shortening the number further.

It didn't strike the pair if it was luck or skill that brought them upon their places in the Olympic teams, but they were there in the groups or teams now.

They had been training for months now, and as the games were approaching it would only get harder and harder.

Yet it was an honour for them to be representing Korea at the games, no matter the results, they would be proud of how far they made it.

At least taehyung would be.

Taehyung was always finding the best in situations.

In the rarity that he's on the losing end of a game, he still is happy with all he did, or he's happy that he found errors that he could work on to become better.

He never felt disappointed at the team's results and just told them what's done is done, and that she should just focus on improving what they felt or found weak this time into the next one to become better.

He always said he was proud that he made it this far, and that he always would be.

He felt that if he was disappointing his coaches they would have said or showed a sign that he was, but there was none of it.

So Taehyung was never dejected by it, he felt he was pleasing them enough.

Jennie on the other hand was a perfectionist.

It was to the point it was scary if honestly speaking.

She hated losing.

She found it a failure in herself.

She found it that her training didn't improve her and that she didn't try enough.

If she ever lost, which is really rare, she would torture herself the next few days to make sure she was perfect again, making sure there would be no way of her coming close to making the same mistake.

She always felt that she would be letting people down if she slipped up.

The coaches, who worked to make her the best she could be.

He friends who supported and fought for her dreams all these years.

Her family who had all these expectations of her.

Her opponents who would label her a weak challenge.

And herself, the one who occupied her body and did all the work for her to succeed.

For each term she would be letting down her determination to have everything done right and picture-perfect would be growing stronger.

In a way, Taehyung was completely oblivious to the emotions of mistakes or failures, while Jennie on the other hand was instead too aware of her faults.

In a way, it almost felt as if the two were in dire need of each other, more and more as days passed.

They were simply two humans born for each other, and as most people call their path,

They were on board a path to destiny.
