Everyone took a seat around the dinner table as all the parents foods were around.
There was a wide variety of everyone's specials, including Lisa's mother's famous japchae and rośe's moms tteokbaki.
It's safe to say the respective daughters dove into the other dishes a lot more than what they usually eat at home.
"So Jennie, Taehyung , how's school going for you?" Jimins mom asked them as they were eating.
The two covered their mouths and chewed as fast as possible, and placed their chopsticks down before sitting straight to reply.
"It's going alright aunty" Jennie started as Taehyung continued.
"Yes, online school has been hard to juggle with sports but we are managing well" he replied both in formal tones as they sat with their backs straight and hands on their knees.
"Aish these two idiots" Hobi sighed looking at them.
"You guys should start to speak normally, we're not strangers you know" Jungkook blurted rolling his eyes at the two being oblivious to their actions.
"Right, we've seen you two grow up through all your years, we're basically your second parents, just stop being so formal" Rosé's father said as he smiled at the two.
"Yes" the two simultaneously replied as they again got back to their polite table manners much to the others arguments.
There was simply no use.
"Right, so I can answer for them. They're managing to get all over 95% scores in all the subjects their taking. I get their report cards after all" taehyungs dad said as the two couldn't seem to be at ease with everyone.
It's not that they hated them.
No they thought of them as family.
It just feels unfamiliar and they were used to treating everyone with manners such as theirs, other than each other, friends, siblings and parents.
They just couldn't be formal with the crackheads they have as friends after all.
"Aish I wish Lisa could be studious too, her grades are simply astounding me seeing how low they are" Lisa's dad said scoffing at his daughter who just sheepishly shrugged her shoulders.
"We even tried getting a professional tutor, but we all know how that went" Lisa's mom said sighing at the memory.
"It was only because that lady was so unfamiliar to me. She always yelled at me too, and couldn't explain anything" Lisa sighed pouting at them all accusing her as she bit into the dumpling that was on her chopsticks.
"Why don't you ask Jungkook to tutor you then" Rosé asked as she pointed the chopsticks in her own hands towards the latter.
"Yah!" The Lisa shouted to her in response of her idea she curated as a solution for the two.
Jungkook had a piece of kimchi stuck in his throat as he silently chocked on it and downed some water that Jimin handed him.
"Wait actually that might not be a bad idea at all" Jisoo said as she thought a little.
"Unnie!" Lisa whined as more started agreeing to the idea.
"No actually, Lisa and Jungkook do go to the same school, and are in the same grade" Jennie's father pointed out.
"Right, and she wanted someone familiar, who better then the one you grew up with?" Namjoon said as Lisa was silently begging them to stop with the idea.
"That's true, what do you say Jungkook?" Lisa's mom asked him as he was a little taken aback by the sudden request.
"No no! He says no! We both say no!" Lisa yelled in protest.
"We don't mind if Jungkook wants to tutor Lisa, they have been friends for quite a while now after all" Jungkook's mom replied to her mom.
"No way! Guys this is ridiculous right? Right?" She said practically begging the others to disagree of what decision was about to be made right now.
He couldn't possibly tutor her.
"He doesn't even have the time since he's so busy! Pl-"
"Lalisa Manoban. Let us ask Jungkook stop talking" her dad ordered as she just gasped yet sat back into her chair as she eyed Jungkook.
"So Jungkook, will you do it?" Lisa's mom asked him hopefully.
He felt too guilty to say no, as they were all asking him to do so.
Sighing he looked up at them and we all know what he answered.
"I'll do it, but please make sure she doesn't kill me" he said pointing to Lisa across the table who instantly tried to strangle him but was held down by yoongi and hobi.
"Really?! Thanks Jungkook-ah" her mom thanked him as her sheepishly smiled at her scratching his neck while Lisa sat to the side upset.
It's not that she didn't mind Jungkook tutoring
her, it's just that she didn't want him to see how much she procrastinates. It's quite a lot honestly.
She just sat there as she huffed putting a piece of an egg roll in her mouth.
Well this would be something.
"Namjoon you should have invited Sun-hee, we would have loved to meet her" Jimins mom told him.
If you were wondering, Sun-hee is Namjoons year long girlfriend.
They began dating a month after they'd met, and they had first met at a work shop.
The parents only found out 4 months ago.
All his friends had met her in the beginning, with the exception of Taehyung and Jennie meeting her on face time, and so had his parents when they finally found out.
"Oh she herself is with her family in Jeju, she's on winter break either way" he replied as they nodded.
"Sure she is" yoongi muttered from beside him making sure no one but him heard, but Jennie heard as she silently chuckled.
They both knew he just didn't want to bring her.
Why?
Because he felt it was too rushed to meet already, as it had only been 4 months since he told his parents, he didn't want to rush things.
And well, they're parents are kinda, intimidating.
He didn't want to freak her out.
Namjoon in reply just smiled to yoongi from the top of the table but he instead kicked his foot under the table.
Their dinner had passed by sooner than expected as they all finished their food, and bid goodbye to whoever they had to before returning to their own homes.
