We got to the stables and there was everyone. Even Jesse and Dina were there, and of course they were paired up with each other.

"Alright, mark your logbooks, clear any infected you see. If you run into anything you can't handle, you come back. Be smart about it." Jesse said in front if the group right before the gate opened.
"Wow he's good at that." I said, holding my arm down to help Ellie behind me on the horse.
"Yeah, he is." She said and we were off to the creek trails.

Right when we left it had started snowing so everything was covered in white.

We followed the stream up the river.

"Doesn't seem to be any infected around." I said, looking back at Ellie. She looked spaced out though.

"Babe?" Still no answer.
"Ellie?"
"Huh?"
"You okay?"
"Yeah, just got some stuff on my mind."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
As I said that we heard the screams of infected behind us. There was a whole horde chasing us, leading us to an old radio tower. We had lost the infected.

"Holy shit." Ellie said, taking a breath and sitting down on a couch.

"Yeah, I'm gonna go sign us in." I told her and she nodded but as I was walking, i felt something throw me down, and clicking.

"Oh, shit." I said as I turned and pushed the clickers face away. I screamed for Ellie and she got the clicker off of me and shot it.
I felt a pinch on my hand as she did that.

"fuck." I said under my breath as I looked at the bite mark on my hand.

Ellie looked over at me.
"Nonononono please no." She sat in front of me and grabbed my hand.
"Ellie-"
"We can fix this, lets take you back to Jackson and- maybe they can-"
"Ellie!" I cut her off with a soft shout.
"There's nothing we can do."
She looked at me with tears in her eyes.
"It's gonna be okay." I said as she threw herself in my arms.
"I can't lose you." She started sniffing.
"You won't. Here." I gave her my old switchblade. Didn't have any use for it now.
"I can't let you go." She said.
"I love you, Ellie. You have to go back now, okay?"
"No, I can't leave you."
"Well you can't stay."
She sat there, crying.

There was a pause, but she kissed me. I could feel her tears falling, and her deep breathing.

"I love you." She said as she got up.
"Love you more." I said back and she walked away, got on the horse and left.

I began to cry the hardest i've ever cried.

I lost Ellie.

I lost everything.
