Hi all! Sorry for the delays in posting I'm busy doing things but I will try to be consistent now. Here's a small chapter for the meantime.
Maria and Tommy wanted to meet with Ellie and I, so we met them at the shooting range.
"Hey Tommy, Maria." I nodded to them both and Ellie waved at them.
"Hey kids." They said in unison.
"Sooo whats up?" Ellie asked.
"So Maria and I were talking-" Tommy started.
"And we wanted to send you two on paired patrols. You guys clearly get along pretty well."
As he said that I saw Ellie blush a little. It made me smile.
"You guys are also our best shooters." Maria added.
Ellie and I looked at each other for a sec but then I spoke up.
"I'm down to do it."
"Me too."
Tommy had a warm smile.
"Alright. Next patrol is in twenty minutes. You'll get your horse at the gate with some guns, and I want you to do the creek trails, which means you go up the stream, and into the next town. Your lookout is at a tower right outside the town. Alright?" He said and I smiled with a nod.
"Alright go get ready."
We did as told and went back to my place.
"Patrols huh?" I said to Ellie.
"Yeah, once you reach a certain age you're required to do them."
"Ah. I see." I opened my door as we walked in.
I let Ellie in and shut the door behind me, taking my shirt off to switch to another. As I put on the other shirt, i couldn't see anything but I heard footsteps walking towards me.
When I could see again I saw Ellie, staring at me. Her face was red.
"You okay Ellie?" I asked.
"Yeah, i uh- yeah." She swallowed her words and looked away giving me a chuckle.
"Cmon lets go." I said opening the door for us to leave and head to the stables.
"Logan?" She broke our silence.
"Yeah?"
"We stick together. No matter what." I could tell she was nervous to patrol.
"No matter what." I said earning a small smile from her.
