--Ellie's POV--
Everything feels so dull without him. But I had to break up with him. The way he talked to Joel, I can't be around that. At least for the time being.
"I have to let Jesse and Dina know that I'm okay." I said to myself as I started walking to the market. I bumped into this girl.
"Oh shit sorry." I said to her.
"It's okay. I'm new here. My name's Sam."
The girl was about my height, dark hair and brown eyes. The same as Logan, except he's taller. What am I saying? I just miss him thats all.
"Ellie." I introduced myself.
"Do you know where I can find Tommy?"
"Probably in the mess hall." I pointed in the direction of the mess hall.
"Thank you." She said as she walked away.
--Logan's POV--
Joel and I were drinking coffee on his porch.
"This still tastes so bitter." I said as I sipped coffee.
"Yeah it takes some getting used to." Joel chuckled.
There was a pause.
"So what did you tell Ellie? After the hospital?" I asked him.
"I told her... that there were plenty of immune kids, not just her." He sighed as he sipped the coffee.
"You wouldn't be wrong, you know." I just looked down into my coffee cup.
"What?" He stood up a little straight.
"Look." I took off the bandage i use to cover the bite mark on my hand.
"Holy shit." He was taken aback by my bite mark.
"Yeah. I reacted the same." I put the bandage back on, and finished the coffee.
"Who knows?" He slouched down again.
"You and Ellie."
There was a small pause.
"How'd Ellie seem when she got back?" Joel asked.
"I don't know." I said, trying to keep myself together.
"Whaddya mean?" Joel looked worried.
"She uh... She broke up with me." I sniffed as tears were in my eyes.
"Oh.. Why?" He sounded sincere. I've never seen him that way.
"She said she was too overwhelmed to be in one right now." A tear fell out of my eye but I quickly wiped it away.
"Shit, Kid. I'm sorry." He thought it was his fault.
"It's not your fault. Shit happens."
