It was a man. Just standing there in the middle of the plains. He swayed once in a while. I crept around him and entered the house slowly. I fast-walked to the guest bedroom. The girls were still asleep and the note was in the same place I left it. Okay, I'm not in trouble with them. Or Hero. I crumbled the paper and shoved it into my pocket.
I went to the couch, where I left my bow, and grabbed it. I slowly walked up to the door and slowly opened it. The man was still there, but this time, Hero was too. They stared at each other and Hero had a confused look on his face. I didn't know what to do, so I just knotched the arrow on the string and waited for their next move.
I swayed in uncertainty. I watched them eagerly as they continued their staring contest. But then suddenly, Hero jumped forward and I gaped as he hugged him. I felt my heart pushing against my chest. My stomach went inside out and I slipped deeper into the darkness of the room behind me. I kept my eyes on the two. And Hero let go and said something inaudible. They looked like they were close friends.
I continued to step farther into the darkness, but a zombie saw me. It looked at my direction and saw the open door. And as Hero was making some type of introduction to the zombies and skeletons in front of him, the zombie walked toward me. It caught Hero's attention, and he followed the zombie with his gaze. He continued to watch it until he saw the door and my eyes. He then shouted, "well, look who's up and about at midnight. Anything wrong?"
I stepped cautiously into the moonlight, scared that he was going to see the paper in my pocket. I crept slowly toward them as they continued to talk. I only caught little bits of their conversation, like something about a rescue, probably about rescuing Magma. By the time I was half way to them them, Hero was confused, "why are you so slow? C'mon, you can be a little faster."
I picked up the pace to a jog and when I got there, I shook violently when I saw who it was, and then a went berserk all over it, "it this the Walker King? Oh my gosh! I can't believe it's really you!" They both laughed at my enthusiasm. In fact, I could of sworn they both gave me a look of pure enthusiasm themselves.
After a while, Hero cleared his throat, "King, this is the newest member of the supernatural part of the family, Trist." The Walker King smiled at me with a little pleasure, as if admiring himself.
He took my shaking hand, "nice to meet you, Trist." He was as calm as his empty, light blue eyes, which had a dim glow coming from them, "were you the one I heard behind me? I can see you doing it. You're very lightweight and thin, so you have no problems of taking off." I blushed in embarrassment.
Hero put his hand up, "whoa, whoa, whoa, wait, what? Someone was outside? When?"
Walker King smoothly put Hero's hand down, "right before you came by. That was why I had my back to you when you came and I didn't notice you until you did the whisper."
Hero's eye twitched, "so... who was it?"
I slightly raised my hand, "i-it was me..." I was dead meat if he questioned me anymore about it, and he obviously knew something was up.
"Why were you outside? Did you lose something?" Then he saw it, "what's this?" He grabbed the paper out of my pocket and opened it up. He glared an angry frown, "Trist? What is this?"
I looked down at the ground, "a note..."
He suddenly become pale, "you went to the house? What is the matter with you? Did you not remember of what they almost did to you when we were rescuing Magma? You got trapped in the room, and if I had followed you, we would be in more trouble than we already are!"
I looked up at him and faced his fury head on, "but I didn't actually go inside the house. I stayed outside and eavesdropped on them as they argued in the kitchen." I watched as he stopped glaring at me with anger and looked more interested in what I had to say to him. So was the Walker King. "Another one is coming. Mom is pregnant. And our dad is planning an attack on us. We have to get ready." My heart skipped a beat when I saw his face drain in color. He didn't like the news.
The Walker King gasped, "what do you think we should do? What about your sister and your friend? Would we need to protect them?"
Hero stared down, and squeeked, "I think I know where to hide the girls. My house." I swayed in distress. I couldn't believe I have made Hero this way. But someone has to break the truth to him. And it wouldn't be fair if I kept the truth from him and he was attacked by them.
Hero then cleared his throat again, "Trist get the others and bring them here. I'll lead them to my house, and I think you would like it yourself."
I nodded and did what he said. I raced into the house and woke the other two up, "c'mon, get up. You have to."
The other two woke up, and Nina moaned, "have you became an alarm clock or something? Why is it you who is waking me up in the middle of the night?"
I rolled my eyes, "last time was a check-up, but this time, it's something really important. I'll explain later." And I rushed the other two out the door.
