I woke up in a bed. Hero was sitting on another one next to me. I guess I was still in the guest bedroom. No, wait. The room is very small. Is this his room? I sat up and moaned a little. He rocked himself a little, whispering to himself, "this shouldn't be happening..." and he repeated that over and over again.
I looked up in confusion, "what?" He jumped and looked me into my tired eyes. He sighed a little.
He spoke barely over a whisper, "hey..." this wasn't him. He would usually be shouting with joy or something, especially if something bad happened to me and I gain conscienceness or something like that. This isn't good.
"What's going on? Where's everyone else?" He stared at me with confusion, then shook his head.
He put his head in his hands, "everyone is okay. We're all in the bunker right now."
"WHA-?" I hit my head in the ceiling, which was three blocks high. How did I manage to do that? I got back on my bed and sat up, rubbing my head. "What happened while I was gone? Did a zombie breakout happen?" I wasn't kidding, but I was at the same time. I didn't think it was the problem, but what really happened?
He laughed a little, then got serious, "no, but mom and dad came. They're looking for us. I bet mostly for you and me. Don't worry. I took out the lever that held open the door on the other side, so we won't have to worry about them coming down here. And besides, we have plenty of food, including enough to heal John." My eyes started to water at the idea of mom and dad looking around in the plains and looking for us. Soon, I had the image of mom taking Hero down and taking him away. I almost started crying, but I stopped very soon.
King then came in and saw us both up, "well someone is finally up."
"How long have I been asleep?"
"For about an hour."
"Wait. All this happened within an hour?" I was devastated. I didn't see that one coming. "And how did you guys find out about mom and dad?"
King rubbed the back of his head, "well, I went scouting to make sure that there weren't anyone else there, just to cheer up Magma a little. On my way there, I saw them coming our way. Then I ran as fast as I can to warn the others. And by the time all of us got down here, I heard them coming into the house." Hero breathed heavier as he leaned back against the wall behind him.
Soon, teary-eyed Magma and Nina came in, and Nina whispered to Magma, "it's okay. Maybe right after they leave we can scout the area. Maybe your friends are spared somewhere, or escaped before the attack happened. The last time I checked, your friends tend to go out of the village some days. Maybe last night was one of those days." Magma lit up a little as all of the sudden we heard footsteps above us.
We all silenced ourselves, then heard someone about Magma's age scream, "Magma?! Are you here?! We are alone. It's us, Alex and Fisher!" Magma jumped up and started running for the ladders when I tackled her.
I whispered, "we can't be to sure who is really up there." Then I spoke louder, "who has x-ray vision?" King raised his hand and stared at the place up the ladder.
He said, "they're alone, all right. And it's definitely a boy and a girl I haven't seen before." I let Magma go and she flicked the lever, and it seemed just in time, because I saw them turning around. They both looked down and gasped when they saw me.
The boy screamed, "Magma! Behind you!" She looked puzzled and turned around to see me staring back at her.
She laughed, "don't worry. She's good. Actually she helped save me from mom and dad." The two looked at me, then back at her, then shrugged as they both came sliding down the edges of the ladder. And once they got down, Magma hugged them tightly and started crying, "I thought I lost you guys."
