“Crucio.” The slick words were followed by the most immeasurable pain I could have ever felt. My body writhed and I collapsed to the floor rolling up in a ball instinctively trying to fight the pain. I wouldn’t scream. Not for him. I wouldn’t give him the pleasure.

After what felt like forever he released his curse and chuckled while I gasped for air desperately.

“Severus, she is a fun one. How long do we have before Potter shows up to rescue his beloved pet?” He asked stalking around me like a lion on his prey.

“She was due back in about half an hour. Knowing him you have an hour maximum.” Snape explained casually. I could only see the lower half of his face with the mask on and his eyes and it gave nothing away. He didn’t seem to be taking pleasure in watching me suffer, but he didn’t seem to be bothered either.

“Great. Who’s next? If I can’t kill the Potter brat, the least I can do is destroy his toy.” He said with a chuckle of happiness. I had never seen him in person, but the aura of insanity oozed off of him in waves. I bit my lip and tried to right myself, but the next curse hit with an almost silent incantation and I was back shaking under the pain biting my lip so hard I drew blood just trying to keep quiet.

It could have been ten minutes, or an hour, I wasn’t sure, but when their onslaught finally ended I didn’t even feel relief. My brain was fuzzy and I was having trouble remembering where I was.

All I could remember was the pain. So much pain.  Never-ending pain that flowed in endless currents through my whole body.
“It’s no fun if she doesn’t scream.” One of the death eaters said depressed. I didn’t recognize his voice, but then again everything was like I was viewing someone else’s life now, not my own.

“Yes, how IS she doing this Severus? I haven’t seen anything like it before. The self control is just remarkable. You know for a mudblood she is quite impressive.” Voldemort said reluctant to give me a compliment, but unable to deny how quiet I had been.

“No clue.” Snape said evenly. I focused on him and imagined him dying a thousand painful deaths.

“Perhaps there’s something she fears more than pain. I can’t imagine someone like her has gotten around much.” Malfoy Sr. said eagerly to get his hands on me. I had little doubt that was his plan from the beginning. Voldemort appeared to consider and came over pushing me with his shoe making sure I was still alive.

“True. Severus, your up.” He announced directing Snape to me like a prize up for the winning. I tried to scream out, but my voice was gone somehow even though I hadn’t screamed. Voldemort chuckled at me suddenly finding energy to protest.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea. She’s underage.” Snape said sneering down at me in despise.

“I agree, I will take that task.” Malfoy Sr. urged unhappy he was being pushed out.
“Did you see how she panicked there? She’s way more afraid of you Severus. Not to mention your so much more entertaining to watch. Her time turner escapades have ensured she’s of age. No more arguing by, get to it Severus.” Voldemort said with finality that left no room for argument. Snape picked me up by my robes in one swift motion and I tried to scream but couldn’t. I tried to wiggle out of his grasp but he was surprisingly strong, more muscle under his shirt than I realized.

“Stop.” He commanded to me, his dark eyes somehow dangerous enough to quiet m down. I felt weak and shaky from being held under the cruciatis curse for so long, but managed to sit up on the stone pillar he set me on. I was perfectly aligned to him, but even with the prop of the pedestal, he was much taller than I was.

Relax Granger. Nothing will happen without your permission.

His voice rang through my foggy brain and I realized he could do reverse legilimency on me to put his thoughts in my mind. Which was odd since my mind was a scrambled mess.
