"Demi, wake up!" my stepmom opened my blinds, causing the sunshine hit my face, I groaned, "10 minutes." I cuddled into my pillow. "Demi,it's your first day." she pulled the covers off of me, "Hey!" I groaned, "You're not going to be late. Now get up." she glared at me as she left the room.
I slowly got out of bed, it was the first day for me,we moved from Dallas Texas to Newtown Connecticut. My dad is a preacher and my mom is a housewife. We moved because my step brother did something bad and had the whole town talking. So we eloped and dad found another church to preach in. Now they are guarding me more than ever.
I headed downstairs, "We made you your favorite kind of pancakes,Demi." Jen clapped, I sighed, "Thanks Jen." I grabbed my fork, "Demetria, stop. We pray before we eat, remember?" my dad scolded me, "Yes,father." I bowed my head.
After we prayed,we ate our breakfast and I went to get ready for school. Preacher kids can wearing anything provocative and anything that has words on it. I went through my closet, which wasn't fully unpacked yet. "I have nothing to wear!"
I groaned at myself and continued going through boxes, I found an outfit. I slipped on a navy knee length skirt with a tucked into white shirt. I belted a brown leather belt around the skirt. I did my makeup and braided my hair into the side.
I grabbed my bags, and ran downstairs, "I'm ready." I licked my lips, "Let me scan you." my dad came out of the kitchen, I stood there as he scanned my outfit. "You're free to go! Matt is taking you to school. Matt be safe."
I followed Matthew to his car, "I hate that you have to start a new school in the middle of the year." he sighed, "It's fine..but you shouldn't have slept with that girl. You know how dad feels about intercourse out of wedlock. "
"Whatever. I was drunk." he turned on the radio, "Dad doesn't like that either. I'm surprise he didn't kick you out,he would have kicked me out if I did any of that." I looked out the window.
"There is a difference, I'm 21, and you're 17." he pulled into my school, it looked pretty big. "Good luck,Dem!" he hugged me and I got out of the car. I headed inside and into the office.
"May we help you?" a lady behind the desk peaked her head, "Yeah...hi..um..I'm the new kid...My name is Demetria Lovato." I rubbed my elbows, "Oh you're the new girl." she got up and headed to the back, What does that mean?
"Excuse me." these two blondes shoved me out of the way, I'm beginning to like this school already. "Demetria." the lady called me over, "Here is your schedule and here the rules of the school." I took the paper from her, "Thank you." I walked out, looking at my schedule.
"Room..259.." I walked around the school looking for my first class. I finally found it, "Hello, who are you?" the male teacher stood up from his desk, "I'm Demetria Lovato..I'm new here.." I showed him my schedule,he nodded his head.
"Okay, it's nice to have you in my class. I'm Mr.Gomez. You can sit next to my daughter,Selena." he pointed. I took a deep breath and sat next to her, "Sup?" she looked at me, "Just trying to find my way--"
"Not you, dweeb." she looked at the person behind me, he had brown blondish hair. I sighed and kept quiet.
The class started moments after the bell rang, "Good morning class! I hope you guys had a good start of the morning." Mr.Gomez sat on his desk, "If you haven't notice,we have a new stu-"
A guy walked in class, he had on tight black jeans,a black shirt and a black leather jacket. His head was a mess of curls. "Mr.Jonas this is your 13th time being late and I have tried everything to make you change your behavior. What else can I do?"
He stole the teacher's coffee, "Nothing, because I don't give a shit." he chuckled, he headed towards me and I got nervous, he stopped at the desk in front of me, "Move, this is my desk." he sipped the stolen coffee.
The nerd got up fast and went to another empty desk. "Joseph, watch your language." I looked at him, "Oh sorry, I don't give a flying fuck." he chuckled, making some students laugh along.
Mr. Gomez rolled his eyes, "You might not be able to graduate,Joseph. Does that worry you?"
"I certainly don't give a fuck about school,so why would I give a rat's ass about graduation." he smirked, making the teacher roll his eyes again, "Where's your brother?"
"Probably fucking a girl." he chuckled, "Excuse me?"
"You know..." he started thrusting his hips at his desk and making moaning sounds, making everyone laugh in class. "Joseph Jonas, we do not appreciate that type of behavior." the teacher glared.
"Sorry, it just didn't sound like you knew what fucking meant, Mr. Gomez." he chuckled, "Seriously where is brother?"
"Don't worry, he finishing his cigarette and he'll be here."
"Like I was saying before, we have a new kid in class, how bout you introduce yourself?" Mr.Gomez looked over at me, making everyone turn their heads at me, "Stand up."
I stood up from my desk, "Hi..my name is Demetria Lovato..people call me Demi for short." I sat back down quickly. "Lovato...oh is your dad, George Lovato?" Mr. Gomez kept his eyes on me.
"Ye..yeah.." I blushed, "He's the new preacher to our church, I can't wait for his sermon Wednesday!" he nodded, "I bet you and Selena will be best of friends."
"Great.." Selena glared at me, I sighed. The guys turned around, "So you're a preacher's daughter?" he smirked, I nodded my head, "So is it true what they say about preacher daughters?"
I didn't answer, "Well, I guess it's true.. You know Labor Day has past." he chuckled, "What does that me?" I looked at him, his eyes were a honey brown.
"You're not allowed to wear white after Labor Day." he chuckled.
"Mr.Jonas leave the new girl alone." Mr. Gomez glared. "I was just telling her that Labor Day has past and she shouldn't wear white."
This will be a good school year, all the kids seem preppy or they seem like a rebel. I guess I'll be friendless this year. This sucks.
