you slowly wake up with two arms grasped tightly around you, filling you with a feeling that is comparable only to sunshine. you take in the smell of fruity shampoo coming from tommy's hair and fight your natural instinct to fall back asleep.

you realize you're still wearing your navy blue dress from last night and assum that there must be makeup smudged all over your face from your crying last night.

crying. last night.

the events of last night overwhelm your brain, swarming you with feelings that you wish to forget. you want to erase the flames that sparked in tommy's eyes, the eyes that usually soften in your presence. you don't want to remember him like that, and you don't, but you never want to see that side of him again. you want to remember him as the tommy that softly pushed your hair behind your ear as he pulled you in for a kiss that made caused time to stop.

you try to pull away from tommy so you can clean yourself up but this just makes him pull your waist in closer and begin to nuzzle his head sleepily into the crevice of your neck. "morning love," tommy whispers, his morning voice raspy in your ear.

your cheeks flush at the word love as you reply, "morning," rotating in tommy's arms to face him. you take in his blonde hair like a sandy beach and his eyes like a bottomless ocean, getting lost in the the different shades of blue. tommy flashes you a warm smile and starts to pull you in closer...

but instead of the kiss you were expecting, and hoping for, tommy begins to tickle you all over, sending you into a fit of giggles, squirming all over the bed. "this is what your get for trying to pull away from me while we were cuddling," tommy laughs as he tickles you even harder.

"stop tommy," you gasp playfully between laughs. "stop it," you laugh even harder, giving in as tommy stops ticling you, pulling you in for a warm hug-

"y/n? you alright?" your dad knocks on the door.

"shit," you and tommy say simultaneously as you pull out of his arms, giving each other a look that says we're busted.

you see the doorknob start to turn and you frantically wave at tommy to quickly go hide in the closet. "yeah, dad i'm okay!" you call back, trying to smooth out the many wrinkles in your dress, expecting your dad to enter at any given moment.

your dad seems to remove his hand from off the doorknob, causing you to release a huge sigh of relief. "okay, breakfast will be ready soon, be sure to tell tommy," your dad adds.

"cool, i'll be right there," you reply. tommy creeps out of the closet as you hear the footsteps from the hall move further away from your door.

"well that was bloody close, wasn't it?" tommy approaches you from behind, wrapping his arms around your waist.

"yes it was. which is why-" you grab tommy's hands and remove them from your waist, turning around to see a pout on his face. "we should freshen up and i'll meet you at breakfast." tommy folds his arms like a toddler who just got punished and you stroke his face and plant a quick kiss on his cheek. "go on," you motion him towards the door, smiling. tommy opens the door without a word, sending you one last look of his puppy eyes before he closes the door. you shake your head at how adorably childish and begin to get ready.

once you've taken a quick shower, did your skincare and got dressed in medium wash jeans and a baggy sweater, you make your way towards the kitchen for food. you settle in at the island next to tommy, saying good morning to your parents and jake.

"looks like you two made up," your mom smiles as she places two plates of waffles in front of you and tommy. jake snorts his orange juice out of his nose and mouth, causing the orange liquid to spray all over his food and the area in front of him. you lock eyes with tommy and automatically burst out laughing. you laugh and laugh and laugh which also makes your parents join in. your dad hands jake a bunch of paper towels, making his cheeks go scarlet from the embarrassment. you snicker with your hand hovering over your mouth, not wanting to make jake feel too embarrassed in front of tommy. "seriously though," your mom inputs again, "it's nice too see you two on the same side of the table this time." tommy smiles brightly at your mom at this compliment, interlacing his fingers with yours under the table.

everyone finishes up their breakfast, clearing their plates off the table and settling in the lounge once they finish eating. jake turns on the tv, putting on a random channel as you ask, "so, what are we doing today?"

your parents give tommy a suspicious, but thoughtful look, like they had already discussed something previously without your knowledge. "umm..." tommy murmurs.

"we'll figure it out," your mom says, anxiously laying on the couch.

"uh, okay then," you respond hesitantly, confused with the lack of response. tommy wraps his left arm round your shoulder and pulls you deep into his side, getting comfortable on the sofa.

"relax, y/n. you can trust us," tommy winks at you.

"if you say so," you cuddle deeper into him but tommy's eyes keep dodging towards the door.

after one episode of the horrible discovery channel, the ring of the doorbell sends tommy shooting off the couch and into the air, sprinting towards the door.

"hi!"
