Ruby and Y/n were talking about weapons and stuff but then realized that Yangs match against that Mercury guy was about to start

Y/n: shouldn't you be heading off to see her match?

Ruby: you're not coming with me?

Y/n: I'll be there I'll be in-

Ruby: how about you sit with me?

Y/n got a little nervous at the thought of the many people probably watching him

Y/n: I-I don't know I'm not very good in crowds.

Ruby: it'll be okay I'll be with you.

Y/n: well that's great and all but still I'm not sure, I'm pretty sure if I'd just disappear.

Ruby: please?

Y/n was hesitant as the thought still lingered but he wanted to see her happy so he put a smile on his face and agreed.

Y/n: you want me to take us there?

Y/n held out his hand only for Ruby to latch to his arm in excitement making him blush. Y/n and Ruby disappeared falling through space then after what felt like a minute, they appeared in the hallway.

Y/n: I'm not sure about this.

Ruby: Oh come on what's the worst that can happen.

Y/n: a lot?

Ruby took his hand and pulled him to their sets joined by Wiess, Blake, Jaune, Nora, and Ren but no sight Pyrrha

Jaune: oh hey Y/n.

Weiss: no rafters this time?

Y/n: nope.

Blake: just let you know you're in Yangs set.

Y/n: she won't be mad right?

Y/n said this with actual concern only for his question to answer with laughter. The fight started kicks vs punches, arms vs legs, upper limbs vs lower limbs. Yang had the advantage in strength but what Mercury lacked in that he made up with speed and maneuverability quickly dodging most of Yang's haymakers and landing some his own. Mercury started kicking the air making a tornado of projectiles and they all clashed with yang. Seemly the battle over yang exploded mildly upset landing blow after blow completely shattering his aura.

Ruby: YEAH YOU DID IT, SIS!

Blake: way to go yang!

Ruby: y/n why aren't you cheering!?

Y/n: uh-uh great yang.

Ruby: LOUDER!

Y/n: AAHH I don't like raising my voice!

The celebration didn't last long as Yang did just as her sister said and Mercury's leg. Everyone looked in horror while y/n quickly appeared in the Arena in front of Yang.

Y/n: where's your head, Yang!?

Yang: I-I.

y/n glimpses over to mercury and saw the damage it was an open fracture soldier pointed their guns at Y/n.

Solider: step away from Mrs. Xiao Long!

Y/n froze as it was the first time he was held at gunpoint but luckily his saving grace was a familiar voice.

???: stand down.

The soldiers turned to see Mary walking towards them.

Soldier: sorry Mrs. Ichor but-

Mary's eyes turned blood red seeing their guns pointed at her pupil scaring the soldiers to a deathly pale

Mary: I'll be the one to take Mrs. Xiao Long into custody. Stand. down.

Possibly fearful for their lives they quickly left taking Mercury on a stretcher followed by Emerald. Mary eyes went back to normal and walked up to Yang and held a hand out

Mary: now then, please come peacefully.

Yang took her hand and Mary look over to y/n gesture him to follow.

Y/n was sitting outside the interrogation room worried for his friend until after what felt hours Mary came out

Y/n: any status update?

Mary: do you want me to be honest?

Y/n: as much as possible.

Mary: from what she's told me there's a possibility there was some form of interference.

Y/n: interference?

Mary: it's possible that someone had a semblance that could have affected what she saw but there's no way of knowing with having everyone in the stadium interrogated which would be utter Madness.

Y/n: oh.

Mary: but what I think she was under some form of delirium probably too much adrenaline, excitement, and such.

Y/n: what happens now?

Mary: my situation is that I'm gonna get an ear full from Ironwood for my decision of taking this matter into my own hands.

Y/n: and Yangs?

Mary: as much as I hate to say it, such belligerence can go unpunished so as of now she has been disqualified from the tournament.

Y/n: ...

Mary: I pulled out almost every favor I have to keep that girl out of us holding cell.

Y/n: I see...

Mary: you should take her back to her dorm, and try to be as cordial as possible.

Y/n nods and Mary leaves to talk with Ironwood and y/n put on his most warmest looking smile and entered the room

Y/n: hey.

Yang: ...

Y/n: * sigh * yang don't blame yourself for som-

Yang: who else is there to blame!? Everyone saw that I broke his leg and people don't believe that was attacked, now I let the rest of RWBY down!

Y/n saw tears fall down her cheek which was concerning because he never saw Yang cry about anything so he really had to pull something out of his brain to cheer her up but first he pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and hand it to her

Y/n: I believe you, and I'm sure that everyone believes you had your reason to do what you did.

Yang took the handkerchief and wiped her eyes with it

Y/n: plus it was an honest mistake you shouldn't beat yourself up about it.

This made Yang smile and handed the handkerchief back to him

Yang: thanks y/n I see why Ruby likes you some much.

Y/n: oh speaking of which I was supposed to take back to your dorm.

Y/n he reached out to her but she still seemed a bit hesitant but he reassures her that it will be fine so she takes and the 2 disappear
