Ruby woke up back home on patch but her awakening also woke up her dad

Taiyang: Ruby!

Taiyang hugged glad to see his daughter awake

Ruby: what happened?

Taiyang: your uncle Qrow hot up of there and brought you home safe-

Ruby: wait Yang is she alright!?

Taiyang paused for a set seemingly having trouble answering that Question

Taiyang: um, she's uh *sighs* she's gonna be alright. I think it's just- it's just gonna take some time for her to get used to things, she's too strong to let this stop her...

But Taiyang wasn't as he had to wipe away his tears after saying that but he was glad to them back home.

Ruby: what happened to the school and Vale? were all to clear out the Grimm?

Taiyang: things at Vale are under control but the school? It's not that simple, that thing whatever is it doesn't seem to be dead. Don't get me wrong you did a number on it but it's not disappearing, it's frozen. I know that doesn't sound go bad but it keeps attracting more grim to the school.

Taiyang: hm?

Another question that Taiyang had trouble answering but this was one he didn't want to talk about at this time because it was a mess

The two turned to see Qrow drinking his flask in the doorway

Qrow: mind if we had a minute?

Taiyang: what I can't stay here?

Qrow: please?

Though reluctant he kissed Ruby's forehead and left to make tea. Qrow pulled up a chair and hot comfortable

Qrow: so, how ya feeling?

Ruby: um I kinda hurt, all over.

Qrow chuckle at this remark

Qrow: that makes sense after what you did.

Ruby: you guys keep saying that! That I did something what are you talking about!?

Qrow seemed less reluctant about answering this question but he did where she had to pick up the pieces

Qrow: what's the last thing you remember?

Ruby: I ran up the tower and when I got to the top I- *gasp*

She remembers what happened to Pyrrha. She's gone...Ruby continued her telling him what happened with tearful eyes but sadness turned to anger until she finally said everything went white

Ruby: I remember my head hurting.
