Starscream shrieked as he dodged another blow from Megatron.
The decepticon warlord was very displeased that he and Shatterblade had come back empty handed after their scouting mission. Megatron found it particularly amusing that he lost a fight with a cybercat.
"You are a fool, Starscream!" Megatron roared, "Not only did you not discover what was causing that signal, but you let the autobots take it!"
Starscream cowered.
"Please, Lord Megatron, the autobot ambush was not anticipated!" Starscream yelped, dodging another shot, "Spare me Lord Megatron! That wench had as much to do with it as I did!"
Megatron smirked, unsheathing his blade.
"You disappoint me Starscream..." Megatron hissed, raising his blade.
Starscream screeched, anticipating the blade slashing his face. He raised his arms on front of his head, shutting his optics. But the blow was never delivered.
He opened his optics, Megatron's blade was still propelled in the air. He had an evil smile on his face, causing Starscream to frown deeply.
"Get up." Megatron ordered.
Starscream scrambled to his feet, almost falling over several times.
"You will go back to the site and find whatever was omitting that signal." Megatron stated simply.
Starscream looked at him questioningly. Why was he, of all people, so interested in what the signal could be?
"Yes, Lord Megatron," Starscream said, bowing, "And what of Shatterblade?"
"Take her with you, she escapes judgement just this once," Megatron said simply, turning his back to the silver seeker.
Starscream nodded, turning to leave.
"Don't fail this mission Starscream," Megatron said as the seeker left the room, " Or it may be your last."
The seeker ignored Megatron's warning. He always said that, but the seeker's spark was still aflame. Starscream rolled his optics at the warlord as the door shut behind him.
-!=!-
Shatterblade was talking with a few erradicons near the energon dispensers in the cafeteria. She didn't think herself of higher rank than them, like some of the other bots she worked with, and actually enjoyed their company.
"So, does Starscream always act like he's the prince of everything or is it just because I'm also a seeker?" Shatterblade asked one of the erradicons, causing him to chuckle.
"No, he always acts like that." He replied, twirling his cube around in his hand, the blue liquid inside spinning, "I think that you being a seeker is just gonna make it worse!"
Shatterblade rolled her optics.
"That's fine," Shatterblade said, looking into her own cube, "I'll just have to put him in his place."
The erradicons laughed collectively.
"Yeah, good luck with that." One said, patting her on the shoulder.
"I did it once, I could definitely do it again." Shatterblade said, an evil grin on her face.
"Well, something tells me you'll get that chance," One of the erradicons said, pointing towards the door.
Speak of the devil, Shatterblade thought as she watched the silver seeker strut through the cafeteria.
He made quite the show of himself. Standing at his full height, which was just taller than the younger seeker, Starscream had his wings high above his helm. He had a sort of sinister grin on his face, like he had just won a bet with a Quintesson.
