A heavy feeling on her chassis.
That was the first thing that Hawthorn registered as her consciousness slowly began to return. Then slowly she realized that her hearing had become fuzzy and she could hardly pick up anything, giving her no hint of where she could have ended up. Though, she could pick up pieces of a conversation happening near her.
"Do you know what other damage they could have sustained?"
"I would suggest checking for internal damage. No one has shown any signs of it yet, but Primus knows what that crash could have done."
"That's smart.
"Is that Sarcasm? I really can't tell with you."
Hawthorn recognized Beelzebub's voice almost in an instant. But whose voice was the other?
Hawthorn attempted to get her optics open, but hissed when she only got static and pain. Did something happen to her eyes? No, if she had lost her vision she wouldn't see the static.
She attempted once more, this time gaining a dim version of wherever she was. She couldn't see that, however, because she was immediately met with a set of yellow optics.
"Get off of me, little man." Hawthorn said, attempting to push the creature out of her face.
He didn't move, his optics just narrowed and he glanced in another direction.
"Compton, off."
He didn't move, so Hawthorn decided to take the matter into her own hands. She grunted, sitting up and lifting her cat off her chest.
"Well, look who decided to wake up."
She turned to see her friend giving her a glare. The 'Took you long enough' look.
"Hi." Hawthorn said simply with a smile, placing her cat on the berth next to her.
"Do you have any idea what's happened?" Beelzebub asked, walking over to the berth, a datapad in her hand.
Hawthorn looked around, assessing her surroundings. It was dimly lit, and looked as if it was built in a hollowed out mountain. There was a good amount of old equipment scattered about the room.
"Where are we?" Hawthorn asked as she continued to study the place that they resided.
"If I tell you, do you promise not to freak out?" Beelzebub asked, an awkward off-smirk painted on her face.
"What did you do that would cause me, one of your best friends, to get angry at you?"
Beelzebub chuckled, that was true, you would have to have done something significantly effective to cause Hawthorn to hold any kind of grudge.
"We're in the autobot base on planet Earth."
"Earth? What a funny name for a planet... Is it organic?"
Hawthorn didn't seem angry, but had raised her optics ridges when she was told where they were. Beelzebub nodded in response, causing Hawthorn to nod in an odd sort of understanding.
"Where are the others? Did they make it out okay?" Hawthorn asked after a few moments of silence.
"Harvenger is talking with the yellow autobot and his human friend. Gearend and Raptore are with the prime and the wrecker looking at abandoned buildings for us to reside until we can leave the planet."
"The prime is here? That's pretty cool."
Beelzebub nodded.
"I guess so."
Hawthorn jumped when Compton decided to jump onto her shoulder as she began to stand up. Beelzebub attempted to halt her, but was pushed away.
"You have been submerged in water for almost two centuries! You need to rest." Beelzebub tried.
"I've been resting long enough, I can tell that much." Hawthorn grumbled, her wings and limbs creaking as she stood at her full height.
Beelzebub agreed, but in her medical opinion she thought that her friend should rest. Hawthorn hadn't noticed how banged up she had been. Her blue paint was faded to an off green kind of color, her wings and armor were slightly dented and her visor was missing.
She also had a cracked optic, which was most likely why she had a hard time seeing.
"Where did you say Harvenger was?" Hawthorn asked as they left the medbay.
"Main room," Beelzebub repeated.
Hawthorn nodded as the two walked to the main room where Beez had claimed Harvenger resided. The black bot didn't see them come in, he seemed very focused on a conversation he was having with one of the creatures on the catwalk.
Humans, Hawthorn assumed.
The yellow bot standing near him spoke mainly in buzz code, which Hawthorn only knew very little of. She could only pick out certain words, but tried stopping when she had a little self realization that her opinion wasn't particularly needed.
One thing she also knew was that Harvenger didn't speak buzz code, and she was curious how he understood what the bot was saying.
"Hawthorn!" Harvenger exclaimed, turning in their direction.
The black bot smiled and practically tackled Hawthorn. Good thing that Hawthorn had relatively okay back strength.
"Hi." Hawthorn chuckled as the bot stepped away.
"Bro, we thought you were dead!" Harvenger chuckled, "We honestly thought that Raptore would be the most comatose out of all of use, but damn!"
"Raptore is okay? Isn't he?" Hawthorn asked.
"He's fine. He's just angry we lost the ship."
"You lost the ship?"
Before Harvenger could explain what he meant, the groundbridge that was in the center of the main room roared to life. Through it stepped Gearend and Raptore, who were happy to see their friends, and Optimus Prime and Bulkhead.
Hawthorn had a reaction similar to Beelzebub's. Instead of bowing and calling him a different name, she simply saluted to the autobot leader.
    "At ease." Optimus said.
"Thank you for your assistance, sir." Hawthorn said, standing at her full height, which almost knocked Compton off her back.
"You have no need to thank us." Optimus said, "We understand the situation that you're in."
"You do?" Harvenger questioned, finding it quite hard to believe.
"It is quite a long story, but yeah," Bulkhead said, "We've been misplaced several times. Can't even count them!"
The team as a collective nodded. They knew that... they had met autobot groups all over the galaxy and not one of them had a place. They had no where, no when, and no why.
"Still," Hawthorn said, "Thanks."
Optimus nodded, then turned to the groundbridge.
"Our human liaison has found an abandoned military building for you and your team to inhabit for now," Optimus said, typing the coordinates into the panel, "It is in a remote area, the decepticons should not be able to find you. You should also consider remaining in contact with us."
Hawthorn thought about it for a moment. Sure, they had been trying to skirt around the war for almost their entire lives now, attempting to avoid both autobots and decepticons. But now? They were offering them help, and they would have to make a tough decision.
Avoid the war and keep living their lives like they would have? Or align themselves with the autobots and be hunted by everyone in the galaxy? Perhaps they could just never say anything, having a mutual relationship with the autobots would be beneficial.
Beelzebub could ask their medic for help, probably learn more about the medical training she would have had on cybertron. And she had noticed that the others seemed to get along with the autobots, and it would be great for their mental health to have exposure to people outside the group.
So she made the decision that the autobots couldn't possibly be that dangerous...
While she was overthinking her decision, the others had followed Prime to the place he had found for them. Beelzebub waited for her.
"Well?" Beelzebub questioned, "Are you coming?"
Hawthorn looked to her friend, then followed closely behind.
"What were you thinking about?" Beelzebub asked as they stepped through.
"What is going to happen to us now?" Hawthorn said simply, "We've been avoiding these kinds of interactions for so long and now we're just... talking."
Beelzebub and Hawthorn stepped through the groundbridge, but before following behind the others, they stayed behind.
"You're afraid of what could happen?" Beelzebub said.
"Slightly, yeah." Hawthorn said, "What if the decepticons decide that we are a threat and want us dead?"
"I think they've already made that decision, but we've made it very clear that we aren't autobots."
Hawthorn nodded. They knew people who identified as decepticons and they would probably stand up for them, or not...
"You're right. Maybe I should stop being so paranoid." Hawthorn said, chuckling slightly, "Maybe this could be the next chapter of our lives."
Hawthorn slung her arm over Beelzebub's shoulder and chuckled, the two femmes finally following their companions. They were right, this would be a new chapter of their life, a long one.
