"The cat's got something in the bag." The dark seeker said, cocking her helm to the side, an evil smirk on her face.
Optimus glanced at Compton, who shook his head. An honest look of I have nothing to hide, not from you, on his face. He trusted the minicon, he seemed sincere, but he hadn't known him for very long and didn't know his motives.
"Do I know you?" Compton questioned as he took root form.
"You might." The seeker remarked, her hand shifting into a sword.
"It's simple for you, prime," The silver seeker known as Starscream remarked, "Surrender, and perhaps we will spare you."
"Like we believe that!" Bulkhead remarked, also equipping his weapon.
A mace, Compton noted, which probably meant that he was a wrecker.
Starscream snarled, extending his claws, poised to attack. Though the autobots knew they would win this fight, for the decepticons were outnumbered, they would need to get rid of the decepticons before moving forward. They didn't want to be followed.
Starscream lunged forward, aiming to attack the prime, who in a swift motion deflected the attack. Optimus equipped his sword with the intent to block each attack. Starscream's attack pattern was predictable; He'd jump back, bare his claws, jump forward and try to slash at the prime's face.
Compton had the displeasure of having to help Bulkhead deal with the dark seeker. Compton was too busy trying to remember her name to think of how her battle strategy might work.
She seemed like an agile femme, probably about the same age as Bumblebee. Her paint job was dark, as he had noted before, and her wings were high over her helm. She reminded Compton a lot of his friend.
The dark seeker raised her sword, prepared to attack at any movement. Bulkhead narrowed his optics, of course he would never actually hurt a seeker, they were fragile, but they always put up a good fight.
Bulkhead made the first move, switching one servo to a blaster and took a shot at the dark seeker. She smirked slightly, using her sword to deflect the blast back at Bulkhead. He dodged it, causing the seeker's smirk to widen.
"You're not the world's best shot, wrecker." The dark seeker said, switching her free servo to a dainty looking blaster, aiming it at the wrecker's head.
Bulkhead ignored the decepticon's jeering and continued to take shots at her. Every one of them she was able to dodge or send back to him. The decepticon was too busy with the autobot to notice the minicon sneaking up behind her.
Compton had shifted back into his feline mode, being able to sneak behind the brawling cybertronians without them noticing. He slunk quickly and quietly behind the dark seeker, sitting a good distance behind her; he needed distance in order to get at her properly.
Compton, acting as the black cat he was, raised his haunches, by doing this he was able to put a good amount of force behind his jump. He waited for the seeker to raise her arm again, so there was nothing she could have possibly done to defend herself.
Soon enough, as Compton suspected, the dark seeker raised her arm to take a slash at the wrecker. As soon as her arm was above her helm, he pushed himself forward, launching into the air. The seeker had no time to react before the cybercat had latched to her back.
The dark seeker let out a pained yelp as Compton's claws sank into her back plating. She turned her attention immediately from the wrecker to the cybercat. Her servos shifted from weapons to digits again, swiping at her back strut in a mad attempt to remove the cat.
Compton did not remove himself, no matter how much the seeker squirmed or how many times her claws raked against his plating. He was waiting for the wrecker to realize that this was an ample opportunity to knock the seeker down while she was vulnerable.
It took a couple of seconds and a couple of nasty and desperate looks from Compton for the wrecker to get the memo. As soon as he realized that Compton's attack was only meant as a distraction, he rushed forward and slammed his mace into the seeker's helm.
The hit knocked the seeker down; Compton was lucky to have dislodged himself before the dark seeker hit the ground unconscious. There was a hefty dent in her helm, a stream of energon dripping from it.
Compton shifted back to his root mode, giving Bulkhead a look that said are you really that slow? Bulkhead shrugged at him, then looked back to the prime and the silver seeker.
Starscream had landed a few hits, leaving surface level scratches on Optimus armor. Though Bulkhead and Compton were done fighting the dark seeker, they didn't think that it was a particularly good idea to interrupt the fight between the seeker and the prime.
"Optimus?" Compton asked through the comm, "You need any help over there?"
Optimus did not respond, for as soon as Compton said something, Bumblebee joined their battle.
::Go find the ship!:: Bumblebee said through the comm, ::We'll take care of Screamy!::
Compton nodded, then turned to Bulkhead.
"It's that way," Compton said, pointing towards the rock face that was about a yard away, "There's a cave entrance further up the mountain."
Bulkhead nodded, shifting into his alt mode and driving towards the mountain. Compton sighed, these autobots are very slow to grasp things... Compton also shifted forms and followed Bulkhead towards the mountain.
Optimus and Bumblebee against Starscream. Two against one. It should have been easy, but it wasn't; they already knew that the silver seeker was cunning and crafty, but he was only one decepticon.
The autobots shot at him continuously, but he continued to dodge the blasts.
"You petty autobots and your blasters!" Starscream hissed, jumping back, gaining some ground between him and his assailants.
Starscream raised his arms, initiating the missiles attached to them. Optimus' optics widened, as he pushed the yellow scout out of the way of the projectiles flying towards them. The autobots successfully dodged the missiles, but not without consequence.
The missiles missed Optimus and Bumblebee, yes, but they didn't miss Compton and Bulkhead. The missile flew through the air, the other autobots only realizing that they were in immediate danger when it was right at their nasal ridges.
The missile blew, hitting its target with an explosion of sand. The other autobots' vision was obscured for a moment, causing them to panic. They couldn't see their comrades, they didn't know if they were okay or not.
Optimus turned back to Starscream, only to see that he was already fleeing. He had moved to the dark seeker's side, a groundbridge opening behind them. Before Bumblebee or Optimus were able to shoot at them, Starscream dragged the other seeker through the portal.
Optimus growled, their cowardice was an annoyance to him. He only dwelled on it for a few seconds before turning back to the explosion site. The sand was already settling, but his view of Bulkhead and Compton was still obscured.
Before he could say anything to Bumblebee, their comm link buzzed with the angry yelling of the cybercat.
"Who threw a bomb at us!"
(Here's Chapter fourteen! I've been trying to reach a goal. Said goal is to write at least one chapter a week; it shouldn't be too hard! Hope you guys like the new chapter!
